i feel like a dumbass. I just finished putting my front koni yellows part number 1139 together and can't figure out how to adjust them. Everything I'm seeing involves a ****. But the stick figure instructions show that I need to stick a pin in the adjustment slot at the top of it. Wtf?

See the silver part that I circled? If you zoom in you will see a slot. And inside the slot you will see some small holes. You use a small Allen wrench or a small bar stock and stick it in the hole and you can move it. It is recommended by Koni to have some load on the shock when adjusting. Also make sure this slot is pointing to the outside when on car or you will have to remove the shocks. It can get tricky positioning it to clear the coils in the springs also.

Also when I adjusted them I started at full soft and I ended up with 4 sweeps from soft. For being such a expensive shock, the instructions that come with them are crap. I had to some research online when installing them.

Just compress the shock then adjust it. On the rears you just use a included ****.

If your rear shocks are on car adjustable they should come with a white ****.

they're on car adjustable but there no ****. I guess I'll call up Sam and ask if he has them.

Went out and took some pics. If you have the 1140's they should include a white ****. They were in a bag with the rest of the hardware.

Thank you. What about the front? I can't get the adjustment point to turn. I'm thinking I need to put a load on them first.

Yeah I assembled them and then put them in the car. I put the suspension together without tightening anything. I then jacked up the lower control arm and compressed the spring/shock to where I thought It would be if the car was on the ground. I then made sure I could get something in between the coils to reach the adjustment slot. If everything looks good you can proceed to adjust them here. If not you will have to remove them and turn the spring/shock till you can get something in there. Looking from the top. Clockwise = soft and counterclockwise = firm. You should have a total of 8 sweeps between the stopping points. Also you will notice that it is easy to turn when you are close to soft and harder to turn when you are close to firm. Hope this helps.

You shouldn't need to put a load on them to get them to adjust.

so so I have $600 of defective? lol I'll try it since they're already in. I did a complete front end overhaul minus the lower arms so now that they're in it's easy to bolt up the rest and try it.

I did mine about 3 to 4 months ago. If I remember right they didn't want to adjust when fully extended like you are describing. Just make sure you aren't at one of the end points. For instance if you are trying to go right to left and it isn't moving. Then try to go left to right. I can't remember where the factory set it at, but I would assume they would set it at full soft.

load and no load. Won't adjust in either direction. I guess I'll hope I like the way it handles on factory settings. If not I'll send them back and have to start over.

you do know you stick a pin in and swipe it, not turn it. correct?

Yeah, I hate to be rude here, but if the OP would look at the Koni website, it tells you how to adjust both the SA and DA shocks with pictures and details.
