Default Lowered my car this weekend.

My brother and I lowered my car this weekend. I have one question for all of the people that have lowered their cars themselves. How in the HELL to you get the shock plate off of the top of the shock?!?! We beat the hell out of that thing and it didn't even think about budging. I ended up having to buy two new ones.
I really like the stance of my car now. It doesn't look like a 4x4 SS anymore. The front is a little lower than I was expecting but I can adjust it with the QA1 shocks. It is growing on me.
Here are a few images of my "new" ride.

Your problem with the shock plates might have to do with the age of the car. I did all of my shocks/springs/etc. at under 5000 miles so that I didn't have to deal with rusted or seized parts. Everything came apart for me with very little effort.

I'm with you on the look - I love your rear stance but the front looks a bit low. The second picture almost looks like the car is under braking. Then again, I was happy with a one inch drop in the rear and a half an inch in the front - sits at 27" all around now, and doesn't look lowered but also doesn't look like a 4x4.

Next time it snows I'll call you up so you can drive in front of me and plow my way through the streets Just messin with you, looks good, i sorta like the raking effect... but the back COULD be a bit lower... just place some small children in the back to add some weight to lower the rear end

Just take the rubber issolator out from the top of each rear spring; that will bring the back down about 1/2 inch.

Good idea.

I can't decide if I am goint to raise the front up or lower the back. The back did drop at least an inch or so. I know the pics don't show it bit it definitely is lower.

Looks very nice!

The shock nut is a SOB after rust has gotten to it.
I just couldn't get any bite on it once its the least bit rounded.

All 4 springs and just the front shocks. I used QA1 12 way shocks up front and the SLP Blilsteins in the rear.

I'll post a side shot tonight. The rake isn't as bad as the pics make it seem.

Did you use DMS springs? That's the stance you see on a lot of cars with DMS

I just bashed the **** out of the rusted nut with a hammer a screwdrive until it broke (which didn't take much since it was so bad).

BMR springs, QA1 12 way front shocks, spring plates from Carquest, and NAPA sway bar end links. Lowered the front about an inch and a half and the rear about an inch. I like the QA1 shocks. They are a little expensive but I think they will be worth it.
