Default Eliminated Wheel Hop, BUT its Back!

Hey guys,

I have a 98 M6 Trans Am and it had koni yellows, a muffler and wheel hop. I bought non adjustable poly rear control arms with relos along with longtubes, a tune (315whp), poly motor mounts, rubber trans mount, and poly torque arm mount.

I havent had wheel hop since until now. When I slam 2nd gear at full throttle, I get hop. My tires are 1 yr old mickey street comp non drag radials.

Is there anything I can check to fix this. I havent driven the car much this summer, only went through a tank and a half of gas. The last time I drove the car, there wasnt any wheel hop shifting into second. I usually lift the wheels off the ground during winter storage but this year I haven't. Not sure whats going on, any opinions?

Yes, exactly. I havent had wheel hop in this car since upgrading control arms 4 years ago. Last week, when I took the car out, felt hop on 3 1st-2nd upshifts. Shitty feeling.

Is the car lowered at all? I would check and make sure none of your bushing are wore out and that nothing is binding.

Rubber trans mount? Bet you its broken

Do a visual on all parts under there for starters. These issues dont magically happen and most suspension problems you can see. Failing that pop each lower shock mount off and hand pump it to see if its not blown, look for leaking fluid first. Often gas leaks out and oil is fine but that shift in suspension pre load without gas charging could also cause this.

^ I second this. Also check the torque arm mount. I have seen more than a few come loose or break and cause these issues. Also double check the torque on the bolts attaching the torque arm to the rear end
