UMI's twin tube design k-member is well regarded, strong, Made In USA and has great fitment. They save approx 25lbs and give more clearance for headers and so forth.

Our road race version has roll center height optimization and turns-in like a Vette.

Check 'em here.

We'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The Midwest Chassis k-member can utilize either the factory power steering or manual rack plus either stock A-arms or aftermarket A-arms that are designed for the factory style slotted A-arm mounts using factory bolts. Our standard K-members with engine stands accepts up to 5" downpipe on the passenger side (without a/c) and up to 3.5" on drivers side. The driver side can accept up to a 4" downpipe if you do a manual rack conversion. The turbo version k-member allows for the use of the a/c compressor and a 4" downpipe on the passenger side.

To this day we still check every K-Member for fitment in our test vehicle. Not only for mounting purposes but to insure it fits properly to the motor. Durability has never been an issue. Any questions please feel free to hit us up.

I'm goona get a ton of static from this, but the giant ugly heavy stock piece is the strongest and most durable k member. I chose the stocker for my build. however the umi road race is a really sweet piece for a 90 percent race car. just wanted to throw that out if u were unfamiliar with that

What is the weight difference between the road race version and the original UMI k member?

The general amount we mention is the road race version adds 3 lbs. There are options like rod ends, which engine mounts you choose and so forth. So, if the standard version is at 25 lbs, the road race tends to weigh 28.

All of this is with a grain of salt, as options happen.

If I could go back I’d buy a K member from you guys. I have a bmr with a manual rack conversion from you guys. I put solid mounts in it and the trans is a 1/2” off at the mount. Even after loosening everything and using a chain house to pull the k member it is still off. I’m gunna have to cut the motor mounts and weld them on straight! Wth right?!?
