Default UMI Products

What up folks. I have a 2002 firebird trans am M6 and I want to install the tubular k member, upper and lower A arms along with swaybar. The problem is that no has them in stock. I'm being told by some vendors that the items are built to order! Has anyone else heard this. I called UMI and they said 5 to 6 weeks out for all of those products and that it would be better to call one of their vendors. Should I switch to BMR or is their another brand to try? Thanks

You should do what they said because they know what they are saying. They aren't going to carry stock on made-to-order parts but other vendors/retailers might. Those same vendors/retailers also get their parts much faster than the 4-6 weeks you (as a small buyer) were quoted.

Try calling Strano Peformance Parts. They are just an hour down the road from UMI and I recall they work very closely together.

I second that, call Strano, I have a UMI tubular K that I got from Strano and it's a really nice part.

Most vendors that manufacture their own parts generally run out during and after Black Friday sales because people will wait until those sales to purchase especially big ticket items. K-members themselves have been a hot item for us this year and hard to keep up with shelved inventory on them.

Personally I would wait for UMI if you can. Their quality, service, and support is unmatched.

UMI is worth the wait. They test and develop all of their products on the track, autocross, strip and street depending on application so you can trust the quality and the performance. I think most of their products are made to order and like it was said, black friday probably made the wait a little longer.

5-6 weeks is nothing. I’ve ordered car & motorcycle parts that took 6 months to a year. That’s obviously extreme, but it definitely does happen. Order what you want and forget about it for a month and a half. Then one day your stuff arrives and you’re happy.

5-6 weeks isn’t bad, I waited a year for my sbr and 8 months for my suppressor. The time will fly by And it may end up being shorter than that. You never know
