The title says it guys, where can you get new rear springs for the WS6, I have a 2000 Trans Am WS6 and can not seem to find new springs anywhere.
I no longer have the original ones and the part has been long since discontinued, everyone has an abundance of lowering springs but what if I want to keep it stock height?
I know coilovers are an option for height adjustment, but I am specifically looking for new OEM springs.
Appreciate any help you can give.
If you haven't gotten springs yet, my suggestion would be to contact Eaton Detroit Spring.
Can you please update once you get them and install? I’m thinking of going back to stock springs with my Koni’s as well.
Off the lift, with new stock GM Delco front and rear springs & Koni shocks. 17" wheels.. ( The part numbers i quoted above from Summit ) It will, should settle a bit as the days go by.. It's a daily driver..
It rides good! It's still a T/A of course. It's a smoother ride than when it was lowered. Still feels a bit rough on certain roads than others, but overall, i'm happier with the new springs and shocks.
Those progressive springs on the rear will be nice. I bet you notice a less jarring/sharp reaction from the rear coils when on rough pavement. After switching from linear to progressive coils on other platforms, I can tell you the difference was apparent.
75Formy, do you have any recent pics now that a couple months have passed. Car looked good when first installed, wondering if it settled down any further.
I'm also looking for stock springs. Previous owner has GOD knows what on it currently and the ride is horrible. Looking for stock springs and then new Koni shocks.
What are the spring rates for the Delco and Moog springs? It looks like the Moog rears are the same part number for the V6 and V8 but I believe the V8’s came with sitter springs than the V6’s. So I wonder if the aftermarket “OEM” springs are V6 springs or stiffer V8 springs or something all together different?

I'm on a similar situation with the rear springs, need to return to stock as new height. I travel a lot with my Z, 190,000 miles, 12 trips from Cleveland Ohio to Florida. Travelling requires being prepared, I carry much, full size spare sitting on the folded down rear seat, a small floor jack, fluids to cover any situation, tools to cover any situation, spare parts.
At 180,000 miles when I changed out the complete rear end, springs measured 13 1/4" free length, new springs (both ACDelco and Moog) are advertised as 15 1/4" free length, so they lost 2" with 180,000 miles travelling use. That equates to 1/2" per 45,000 miles. I've been watching for used springs with a decent free height dimension. All the new springs available are now of progressive rate design.
I picked up at Summit the ACDelco professional coil springs ADO-45H3025 (progressive rate design) and planning to install them as a winter project.
Also stockers have 6 full working coils, I've seen 5 full working coils ( which would make them stiffer) and those must be for 1LE road racing application.
The pic is of the stockers at 180,000.

I think this guy bought “V6 springs” and no one is making the springs for the V8 cars.
What rear springs you got from the factory are listed on your RPO code sticker.
In my case they are 8TH & 9TH.
And then from the GM parts catalog layout, they can be identified.

I don’t think there’s an aftermarket OEM replacement spring made with the V8 specs.
They list the same part # for V6’s (softer spring) as they do for the V8 equipped cars. They list the dimensions but not the spring rates. If a company is only going to make one spring It makes since from a manufacturing standpoint if point to make the springs the “v6 springs” since there were a bunch more V6’s originally sold. However, I bet the bulk of the V6 Camaros and Birds have been crushed long ago.

There's no reason to have different rear springs for V6 & V8 as the back half of the cars are identical in weight. The front ends are where they're different in weight because of V8 vs V6 and tranny.
Spring controls the height and shocks control the movement. That V8/V6 spring can be softened (comfort)/stiffened (handling) with different shock valving. The shocks are what show up as different in the parts layout catalog.

I meant that Moog and Delco don’t list the rates. They list the same spring for 1982-2002 Fbody’s regardless of trim level. The rates weren’t the same through all of those years.
I noticed the same thing when I was looking at front suspension too. The companies that offer “quick struts” (shock & spring) list the same part number for ‘93-02’s regardless if it’s an SS or a V6, and they don’t list the spring rate either.
