Default Heater Hose/‘99 Cobra Rear Spring Isolators

When one does “heater hose mod” to the stock 4th gen F body suspension does the rear sit noticeably lower than the front to where it looks stupid? Or would one really have to be looking to notice that it’s lower than the front? Instead of using heater hose I think I would use Prothane isolators for a ‘99 Cobra. It’s said that they lower the rear about a 1/2”. I have a Z28 stock suspension with stock 16” wheels. Some say the car has a rake from the factory and the heater hose mod levels it out. Some say the heater hose mod made the rear lower than the front, which sounds more likely to me. Anywho, does the heater hose mod look “better” or “worse” on an otherwise stock vehicle? I read the 8 page sticky.

How does the heater hose mod affect a 60’ time? Better, worse, no affect?

Stock rear isolators, BMR springs Koni Sport shocks

Hose mod, same Springs & shocks

make sure your stock bumpstops are in good condition. On my car it leveled out the stance, I have seen some cars have a reverse rake though.

I've read a few threads about the heater hose wearing through after a while, not sure how much of an issue that is though.

I recently installed spring isolators on an 04 Cobra and thought the same as OP. Below I measured the thickness of the isolators in question.

I did it for about 4 years and it didn't wear through the heater hose in a daily driver. I did put them back on so when I put Strano Springs on, but I'm going to try the heater hose again.

It's nothing to be scared of. Just go get some heater hose and try it out, if you don't like it go back to stock isolators

I ordered the ‘04 Cobra isolators and they’re a bit shorter than the OEM so we’ll see what we get. This guy said it lowered it about a half an inch.

Was the rear noticeably lower than the front at a glance?

Default The Results are in. You are not the father.

I got them in. The rear is a little lower than the front but it’s not low enough for my wife to notice that it was lowered at all. She doesn’t pay much attention to it, but it wasn’t radical enough for her to say WTF!? It looks ok enough that I think I’m going to give it a go for a little while at least.
I was having a hard time finding any level ground close by to take a pic but I did the best I could.
