Default SLP Safety loop

Does any one have this product, and what does it do, and is it worth it?

It's a great piece but it doesn't fit all applictions, I can you this...if you have the stock y-pipe forget it...if you have the SLP y-pipe or SLP LT's then it will fit fine.

In the rare event your drive shaft would separate from the tranny, it keeps the drive shaft from going anywhere, either into the bottom of the car, or worse, into the road where it could "pole vault" your car. It happens. Last time I was at a street night drag event, some guy in a 2nd gen Camaro lost his near the end of the quarter mile.

Does it help prevent any noise down there?

Nope. It may in fact create noise, just because it's a tight squeeze down there and you may find things end up rattling against it. Because the fit is so tight, the result is different for every car. There are a couple different designs out there. Spohn has one built into the torque arm, LG and another company I can't think of use two piece units that surround the exhaust and the drive shaft. I had a BMR that I could get to stop rattling. If it wasn't vibrating on the torque arm, it was vibrating on the exhaust. If it wasn't on either of those, it was rattling against the tunnel. I now have the LG piece, which is rigged to no end with different bolts and washers, but it still rattles occasionally.

If you're not sure, the DSL's bolt in where a stamped piece of flimsy metal currently ties the tunnel together.

A DSL is required at NHRA tracks if you are running 12.99 or faster and IHRA if you are running 12.49 (i think) and faster.

It also doubles as a sturdier tunnel brace compared to the stamped stock peice, but this is over very minimal advantage.

My SLP fits great, but is the lowest hanging part on my car.
