Default Best spring kit for lowering?

I am interested in lowering my car (2K Z28) a bit to make the gap from the tires to the fender go away & make it look a bit diffeent than the other camaros in town. I guess the 3 top choices are either
Eibach Sportline Spring Kit (Excluding convertible) 1.8 drop F&R
Eibach ProKit Performance Springs lowers approximately F-1.5 inch,R-1.3 inch
H&R Springs V8 Sport Lowering Spring 1.25 drop

I am thinking of getting the Eibach Sportline Spring Kit (1.8 drop)

Have any of you had experience with these and could recomend?
I have 18" x 8.5" wheels. Tires are 245/4018ZR i think. There is about a 2 inch gap between my fenders & wheels now. I have been told to just get taller tires but I dont want to go over anything thats a 40/45 & 45 wont make much diffrence/plus I still want to drop the car a bit anyways.

I did a search on the site for best lowering kits, Best springs, and a few others not much came up so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for your input.

Personally, I think Eibach springs are crap. They seem to be a hit and miss. Some have good luck with them, others not. I hear they tend to sag over time, and ride way too soft. Of those three, I would definitly get the H&R's, but thats just me.

I have the sportlines on my 02 and love the way it looks BUT it rides horrible, bottoms out everywhere and the real bitch is duals will not fit. I also have sportlines on my 94 hawk and those are great, none of the above mentioned problems. It is a hit and miss but I think the 94-97 springs are a little different than the 98-02's and the 93 and up springs will fit an 00. If I had to do it over again(and will) I would go with hotchkis springs or at least a pro kit but even that is very soft.

I love my Eibach pro-kit. Had them on for 30k miles so far and no sagging. I personally don't believe the sagging rumor. Hotchkis makes quality suspension parts also.

pro-kit works here, i can no longer go in my driveway, car just gets stuck lol. before i would lightly scrape exhaust tip.

so far handles pretty damn good, new rims/sfc on the way to see what she can really do

oh yeah i did indeed scrape a speed bump with pacesetters because i didn't see it i was going slow however

I had the QA1 HAL series on mine and I HATED it. The car looked awsome but drove like complete crap. It would bonce up and down and launch very weird because the harder springs were in the front and more bouncy springs in the rear. I already swapped it out for a prokit setup. I like it much better

dude you can't go any lower than the pro-kit, with tucked pacesetters, the **** likes ot scrape on driveways. cant imagine going any lower you already look like your riding cholo-style with the crappy z28 seats and being so low

Sportline springs are for looks only and shouldn't be used if you value ride or handling. Prokit springs are used by many people ( me included ) successfully on road courses, street driving etc. and are great all around springs. The rears do tend to sag more than the fronts after a period of time so you need to shim them up a little bit.

BTW every coil spring in the world sags after a period of time. That's the way springs are. Even the Guldstrand RR springs I put in my 2nd gen came down an inch after a while. As a matter of fact every spring I've ever put in a car has settled after a little while. I think the deal with Prokits is the rears settle more than the fronts because the rears are pretty soft to begin with . Anyway shimming them up is an easy 30 min. job and they DO work well in many differant area's

Prokit here as well; I think the key is getting the right shock with the spring too. I use 3rd gen Bilsteins in the rear and 4th gen revalved bilsteins up front. As in revalved to match the spring; courtesy of Sam Strano from stranoparts.com

My Z28 just got BMR springs with SLP Bilsteins, BMR boxed sfc's, lca's, lca bolt in brackets, adj. phr, and stb all in chrome-moly where available. It's a huge improvement from where it was with the stock suspension. I thought about the pro-kits but since this is my daily driver I wanted a little more clearance (1" drop)and I have long tubes.

I had already done 17" ZR1 polished wheels with 275/40/17 Firehawk EP's and that was a nice improvement just going to 17's but this really changed the car. It now rivals my C4 vette in handling and braking. The front brakes on the Z28 were also upgraded to the Baer GT+ kit.

damn. Im suprised I am the first to suggest this, But Hotckis springs. IMO they are the best quality for the price. They dont have the inherant sagging issue that Eibachs do. I am going to get them with some new shocks and relocation brackets...someday...
