Default Brembo Rotors

I really like the look of drilled and slotted rotors and have been looking into the Brembo, I know that the drilled and slotted rotors don't help stop any better and everyone says that they will crack. I want to hear from people who have experienced this cracking and see how hard they abused their rotors. Mine will just be street use.

If they are just street use and you let them cool down after hard braking then you wont have a problem.

I had the same concern before I bought my Wholesale Direct rotors. I'll install them and break them in properly once my car comes back out. My buddy has had some ebay xdrilled/slotted rotors for 6K and a few panic stops. No cracks yet. Only place I've heard of them cracking was online, never actually seen it in person.

I have the EBC Green Stuff pads and rotors. Mine only see street duty and have some hairline cracks at the holes...may 1/4" long or so. I've had mine for close to two years now.

Thats what I thought! No one has personally experienced the cracking.

On the street, you may not crack rotors. They are more prone to it. At any track event, we can show you cracked rotors. Cracks are not a myth, but if you do not beat your brakes silly, you may not have issues. Thinking that "it never really happens" is incorrect. I've had surface cracking in my non drilled/slotted rotors (surface checking), if they were drilled, they'd have been much worse.

Also, I think someone above posted that they have cracks forming.

Send a PM to Mitchntx, he had a cross drilled rotor "break" on him once.

Im not saying that it never happens its just everyone keeps telling me that they will with just normal street use. I just wanted to hear from someone who cracked them under street use and not race. I don't realy beat on my brakes much.

You must have missed post #4 (right above your post - #5). Here it is:
