Default What LCA's should I buy??

I'm noticing wheel hop on the street for the first time since I put a TB on it. I like what I've read about lca's with QA1 rod ends on the axle mount, but I just don't want a terrible noise ie clunking or rattling. I don't run on a road course, and really don't drive that fast on public roads anymore (33 years for ya). But I do make fairly regular strip visits. I also have a stock 10 bolt with 4.10's and it's lowered, so I guess I am past due for reloc brackets. Thanks for any input. Leaning towards Spohn because they offer chromoly.

I personally have gone through 4 sets of them:

1. Stockers
2. BADZ rod/rod with cheap-o rod ends
3. Spohn poly/poly
4. LG poly/rod

I've never had a problem with wheel hop. Then again, I've never ran sticky tires. Relocation brackets should help you out though in that department.

Now, a cheap rod end will rattle. That is why I no longer have the BADZ pieces. The Spohn poly/poly squeaked, and they did bind, even just driving around town (I take corners pretty fast). The LG poly/rod made the car feel much better, and you can definitely feel the suspension actually working like it should back there (no bind). Now, as for noise, the QA1 will still make noise. You will only notice it when slowing down (like pulling up to a stoplight on a rough road), and especially in rough parking lots. That is the nature of the beast. It isn't bad at all, and I can live with the noise. You might not be able to...who knows. It certainly doesn't sound like my BADZ ones did though.

I daily drive my car, so I don't have much tolerance for noise, but I still like these poly/rod pieces, and they will stay in my car. I do have a VERY sensitive ear though, and I know what I'm listening for.

I like my BMR's, no more wheelhop (changed from Nittos to MT Dr's too ) but they went in and no noises or squeaks or problems.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. Those lg's aren't adjustable according to their site? I was looking at the Spohn chromoly/poly/rod set up. UMI doesn't show a chromoly option. Not so sure about BMR and Wolfe is race only for sure.

If it is a poly/rod LCA, it has no choice but to be adjustable. If it is poly/poly, it obviously won't be adjustable.

I wouldn't worry about the chromoly thing either...you aren't going to be seeing much of a weight savings with those, plus the price goes up since you have to TIG chromoly.

I'm most likely stuck on a qa1 rod end/poly.

Well maybe these will help, everything you are looking for plus. They are Chrome moly and feature QA1 rod ends, great for track or autocross. I have had the Qa1 ends on my car for some time now and have had no noise issues. It seems most of the noise concerns are from the ones running the "cheaper" rod ends.

Those seem like they might be overkill for me. I like the single rod ended ones.

Chrome Moly adjustable BMR lower control arms are $149.99 at speed inc. poly/poly bushings. and the umi's are not chrome moly, they are mild steel. only the tube adaptors are chrome moly.

untrue, if you read through UMI's ad in the GP section there double adjustable LCA's are Chrome Moly, there single adjustables are mild steel.

If the BMR adjust. control arms for $149 do not have rod ends they are pretty much useless in my opinion. I mean how often are you going to adjust your LCA's? The biggest benefit of adjust. LCA's is the spherical bearing.

most people (at least drag racers ) use them to move the tire ever so slightly to the rear to make room for bigger slicks also the poly/poly works fine for drag racing.....my .02
