Default which stb, standard or crome moly

"Standard model is made with strong 1/4" mounting plates and 1.25" x .095" tubing while the chrome moly version is 1.25" x .065" tubing to insure zero deflection under load" Thanks

Anybody who says "zero deflection under load" is a
liar or a fool, physics-wise.

My take on how these work (I have a mild steel
Hotchkiss) is, they just serve to keep the top together
enough that it doesn't have the ability to shake. You
don't need "zero deflection", you just want to squelch one
low-frequency "chassis" mode. (Chassis? what chassis?)
You could make it out of aluminum and, provided it was
strong enough not to deform plastically, it would be
about as good.

Chrome moly components are primarily for weight savings. They can be made as strong as steel components, but lighter.
