Question Should I remove my traction control and how?

Been thinking about it..
Theres been a few times where I forgot to turn the damn thing off when racing, and I am cleaning up my engine bay. So is it worth keeping, right now I dont think so. How do I remove it? I attached a picture of what I think needs to be removed so far in the engine bay. I do want to keep my ABS
is my ABS also connected to the tc unit or something?
thanks

What about just using the TCS logic module? I like mine (from SLP), it's off all the time till I hit the factory button and to turn in back on (just reverse of the factory setup).

I don't know if they are connected, but my '02 looks better underhood without the TC. I swear that the pedal feels a lot different than in my '99 with T/C. I think it is because my '02 is directly linked to the TB and my '99 is going through that module. But remember, you will have the bolt holes showing if you remove it.

So I will have get a new throttle cable or just take the one from the tc unit? So what else is hooked up to that unit...abs? I dont have cruise control btw
I am ordering Hillco bolts, washers, and nuts in chrome for most of the holes in the engine bay

the tc has never helped my racing, thats what drag radials and slicks are for

the slp mod is nice but I am looking for less weight and clean look

thanks

Dude its like wearing a seatbelt. One goes on the other goes off everytime I get in the car. You dont need to remove it, just develop better habits. You look at your guages at startup dont you? Then look up at the switch and toggle it off.
xtra weight?!? lmao!
Your going to plug the holes with nuts and bolts? but are looking for a clean engine bay. hmmm to each his own I guess.

And no it ( TC) doesnt help you race. Its to keep inexperienced drivers from spinning out and crashing everytime they step on the gas

well I want less things to worry about
I already have switchs for
-electric cutout
-nitrous
-bottle heater
-fuel cell
-window switch
and.. I know theres someting else

plus " less weight and clean look"

and yes clean show car look. I have already covered a lot of holes in the engine bay. **** I would of covered the damn tc unit holes if I thought about it. I am trying to save as much weight as possible, new motors a iron block...quite a bit of weight added. Just removed my ac also. I attached the hillco bolts I'm getting but chrome bolts on chrome washers. If you had A car like mine you would understand
heres some pictures

I would just leave it in. All u have to do is shut it off if u don't want it on.

daily driving w/out traction control would suck. (more or less depending on rwhp and torque) i'd say just say leave it and remember to hit the button. its not hard i swear.

lol I know its not hard but I dont drive the car everyday or even ever week. Got a few other cars for that. Mainly when I have races set up or just to take a cruise. HP will be over 600 and it wont matter since I'll be driving when its dry on BFG Drag radial 295/35/ZR18's

Lawman
yes speed inc pcm and fuse cover

So does anyone know if removing that piece in the first picture I attached will effect anything else? And what are the 3 lines for?

There was a thread about this a while back...I thought about removing it myself, but I don't want the ASR OFF light to be on all the time...I believe that one cable comes in from the accelerator pedal to the unit, then one cable goes out to the throttlebody and I would guess that the third cable goes to the cruise control.

If you pull the fuse, it will automaticly turn off once the car starts moving. If you ever need it back, just pop the fuse back it.

The actuator in your picture is the ASM accelerator and servo motor. It's controlled by the EBTCM which is the ABS controller. It's only part of the system. The EBTCM will still retard ignition timing and actuate the rear brakes when it detects wheelspin. The easiest way is to disable the traction control, either by installing a logic module or pulling the fuse. You would still have warning lights on the dash but you can just pull the bulb. The only other way to keep ABS and get rid of traction control is to replace your EBTCM with an EBCM from a car without traction control, and re-program the ECM to fully delete it. It's expensive, though.

The reverse switch from SLP works great and you can still use TC if you want. Don't think all the excess weight will have a tremendous effect on 600 hp. LOL
