Rod ends are preferable for performance. That goes for drag or road racing (turning corners, not street racing). However, some people don't like the noise that rod ends can make after they wear (or cheap rod ends make from the beginning) and stick to poly. For drag racing, you can "get away with" using a poly LCA if you really want to. I don't like them myself and won't run them (but I turn corners), but you can use them for drag racing and many people do.

Rod ends are best, but last time I checked BMR used crap rod ends. You need good QA1 Endura 2000 Series or Aurora Three Piece Rod Ends. The cheap stuff wears out quickly and will rattle on you. That's why rod ends get such a bad rap. Get the good stuff and it will last a long time as well as stay quiet.
More info here:

For high quality ends, check with LG Motorsports, Spohn, UMI and Unbalanced Engineering.
First 3 use QA1, UE uses Aurora.
PM me if you want prices from all these guys.

All of the poeple I heard from on LS1. com and other sites said the rod ends on the BMR stuff were not high quality, sometimes starting to rattle with a few weeks time. If they switched over to the QA1's then good for them. They don't mention the rod ends on their site so it's hard for me to tell. Their current prices are in line for a product using QA1's, also. Seems like they were cheaper a while back.
If BMR is using good rod ends now, then I take back what I said. My bad.

Hey guys, there may be a better alternative to rod/rod LCA bushings. A lot of folks say they are too noisy, why not use a rod-end on one side only to prevent binding and a stiff rubber bushing on the other to soak up the vibrations? I was thinking about welding up something like that using a 1LE bushing and a rod-end. Well I just ran across this thread, check it out:
