Default Spohn Torque Arm install

Had a quick question about the install. Does the suspension have to be loaded or does it not matter? I have the adjustable spohn for the Long tube headers with the front drive shaft loop.
TIA

Did you get the poly or the rod end? Poly not to bad for road noise. To set the rear-end angle the car has to have wieght on the rearend. I set mine on jack stands. U then measure the differance in the drive shaft and rear end input shaft. I used the gage that spohn sent and then check with a electronic gage. It was set correctly with the spohn gage.

i just did mine today on a drive on lift. it was a pain in the ***, go get the two long rear end bolts back in with the car 8 feet in the air. other than that, the install was pretty smooth.. everything fit perfectly. i got the rod ended one with the g load brace and the front driveshaft loop. and yellowtoy was correct, the rod ended one is pretty bitchin on road noise, but its livable.

btw, the guage spohn sends is so easy to use, its magnatized so you can just hang it from the torque arm, then the driveshaft and it makes finding the right angle a breeze.

Did you guys notice any clunking noises that sound like a bad tranny mount after you put these on? Mine sounds like the mount is bad but I checked it and it seems fine. Any other ideas? Thanks!

yea i noticed that too, i just attribute that any rear end noise going straight into the g load brace which is right under the seats i think. because when i had a bad tranny mount any spirited acceleration and there was a loud clunking noise followed by everything on my console shifting all over the place.

well after another day of driving the car, i am noticing more clunking, i hope i didnt do anything wrong. it does infact sound simlar to a busted tranny mount, but its not, because its not the exact sound, when my tranny mount was gone, the transmission would hit the tunnel HARD, this is more like a muffled clunk, but a definate clunk.

any ideas anybody?

LCAs and torque arms should be done at ride height.

What's your pinion angle set at? Almost sounds like the TA is binding a little.

I set it at -1, but I didn't have access to a drive-on lift that night, so I had a trans jack holding the rearend up with all the weight on the axle. I thik I will use the drive-on at work and double check my pinion angle and see if that helps. Anybody else had this problem?

I have the rod ended spohn and I also have the clunking sounds. I think it is normal for a solid mount to do this, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have a "rubbing" or clunking sound on a very sharp turn? Like at a stop you turn the wheel all the way right or left, start moving, and then you hear it.

i dont think ive heard that sound yet but i do definitely have some clunking. i did mine on a drive on lift, and i set the angle to -1 also, and it sounds like theres something WAY loose by the clunking, but nothing is loose,

I have a Spohn adj with spherical end and I also have a possable fix for the clunking i'm working on. It's not expesive but it is cool I have to check to see if it affects proformance before I let Spohn know what I'm working on. It's sweet!

if you have a fix, then you must know whats causing the clunk. what is it?

lol, thanks. movement from where? injuneer from cz28.com says it could be from gear backlash or from driveshaft movement, he has the same torque arm. and hes a helluva lot more knowledgable at fbodies than i am.

like I said I'm working on it I may not have the right fix but it looks promising.

if it does work and Spohn don't want to incorporate it then I may offer it as an add on kit.

I'll say this it's not caused by gear backlash
