Question Need some help with ZO6 brake conversion.

http://www.lmperformance.com/3055/2.html

I have done several searches on many different boards and I have gotten so many different answers I don't know what to think. What is exactly needed to install this kit? I have read everything from people saying you need to change to LS1 spindles and LS1 steering knuckles to some people saying the kit just bolts right up. Could someone please help me out here and try to clear this up?

Thanks

As long as you have LS1 spindles, you should be fine. I might (if it were me) add a set of Corvette front brake lines to make sure you don't "stretch" them stock ones when you turn the wheel fully. That kit uses a larger rotor, the stock PAB from the LS1, new calipers with pads and the brackets. You should be complete (and you may not need the brake hoses, but I'd check it after assembly, I've not installed that kit, so I can't say for sure).

LS1 and LT1 spindles are just a direct swap?

Yes, you can pull one and swap it to the other. If you don't have LS1 brakes, you'll need the LS1 Pad Abutment Bracket (PAB....the "frame" that the pad sits in and the caliper bolts onto) to go with the kit and at least LS1 brake hoses (possibly the Corvette/C5 hoses, that's what I'd consider using for the slightly longer length).

Trackbird covered most everything. I just wanted to add that LG's kit will use LS1 f-body calipers or the Corvette calipers. I had a newbie salesman from LG tell my only the vette calipers worked, but Lou's son corrected him and told me that either will work with their brackets.

Jason's correct. I forgot that it's not "common knowledge" or I'd have mentioned it (and that kit comes with the Corvette calipers).

I was thinking of getting the LG Brackets for the C5 brake conversion once my stock rotors or pads wear out but I never thought I'd need front C5 brake lines. How much are they?

Excellent. Since I'd not installed that kit, I couldn't say for sure, but that was my only concern. If the stock lines clear, then you can stay with them. I'd rather be too careful instead of not careful enough.
