Default torque arm relocation kit?

is it worth the 250 bucks to relocate the torque arm so that its not bolted to the tranny? seems kinda high to relocate it but i have heard people say its bad on the tail shaft? anyone like to comment on this? 450-470 rwhp when i am "through" and i will not be going to the track too often, i dont see a need for it unless any of you can convince me otherwise

if you plan on running stickies at the track and plan on launching it hard, I would DEFINITELY recommend taking that TA off the tranny, you are pushing a lot of power, so I wouldn't take a chance, just IMO. What crossmember are you looking at? BMR or Yank? I would call BMR and talk to them, since they made it!! BTW, here's a thread of my buddies turbo SS when he tried to launch with a stock TA, don't know what he's pushing power wise, but he launched it at 5k I think, but you get the idea.....

When I ordered my torque arm I wanted one of these as well but didn't want to spend the extra $250. Upon my TA install, I found that my TA was hitting my Y pipe and my only solution was either upgrade to headers and a new Y or get the BMR relocation mount so I bit the bullet and spent the extra $250 and ordered the adj mount. I'll now be able to move the mount up out of the way of the Y and also move the mount off the tranny. I also ordered a poly trans mount from Spohn to install while I have it off. Still waiting for it to come in. I'll post some pics of the install this weekend...

I'll measure. I should have it on this weekend. I'm lowered with the Pro-kit.

I'll just measure the difference between the two. The pro-kit drops the car between 1.2 and 1.5 inches... I'm now only running pro-kit springs in the front. I switched to ground control in the back so I could adjust the ride height.

You will loose some ground clearance with a Spohn TA. Probably at least an inch. Picture is not good, but you can see it hangs lower than any other part of the car in center excluding the rear end. My car is lowered one inch with Koni SA's set to lowest setting.

I've scraped it twice but not on speed bumps.

Pic of Spohn TA.

NOt yet, I was hoping the part would be in on friday. I'll post as soon as it's installed. The pic posted is of the chasis mount TA, not the tranny mount version...

You wont have a problem with the crossmember your exhaust is lower.I have the Yank
crossmember in mine it's a little beefier than the bmr.It does transmit a bit of driveline
vibration but I minimized that by placeing a piece of rubber conveyer belt between it and the body.

You lose 3/4", it's now the lowest part under my car, hangs about 1/4" below the stock Y.

That being said, it is an awesome piece, if anyone is planning on installing one of these, PM me, I can give you some tips to save you some time upon installation. There are a few things not covered in the installation instructions.
