Default GC coilovers - stripped hex bolt

Went to adjust my rear GC coilovers since the *** of my car seems to be sagging and ran into a little problem. It would seem that the bolts did not take well to being put through Chicago winter, and rusted themselves pretty severely. I was able to break the first one free, but the second one was so bad that the hex bolt is now stripped to more of a round bolt. Any suggestions on how to get this sucker out? The bolt is recessed a bit so I don't know how i'd get any sort of tool in there like a dremel to try cutting a slit for a standard screwdriver.

Had to re-raise the other side again after trying for an hour to get this thing loose. PITA.

Thanks!

Drill the center of the bolt, use an easy-out (Sears), and then get a new bolt.

Do you happen to know the size of the threads on the bolt? I don't want to use a bit too large and have to re-tap the coilover collar.

Thanks!

No I don't... you use a much smaller drill bit than that for an easy out. You're not drilling the bolt out, you're drilling into the center of it to give the easy out a place to grab. Then the easy out should pull it right out without damaging it. The hardware store should have a gauge for the bolt size and thread pitch you can use on the old bolt to get a new one.

In case anyone needs to know this, I'll post it.

I had to buy a set screw for the rear Ground Control weight jacks that I was installing on my car (one was missing, I bought them used). So, after a trip to Sears hardware, I can tell you that the bolt is 1/4" x 20 and it's 1" long (and made of stainless steel, which Sears hardware had in stock for $.65 each).

So, if anyone was wondering, there it is (no need to pull yours and measure them now).
