Default traction control?

My 98 formula doesn't have any traction control switch. Did they come with traction control?

one way to figure out. try a burnout. if you spin em a lot you dont have it. if the gas pedal forces your foot back and throttle is reduced. you have permanent traction control

or you didn't notice the switch or thought the switch was something else. On mine it's above the radio, the switch on the right.

I have looked everywhere in the car, no switch. When I turn on the car the dash lights show a TCS light. The car burns tire like crazy and doesn't push the pedal back on me. Seems like maybe the guy before me put the canceler in. Anyone else have a 1998 with similar symptoms?

It was an option. Some cars had it, some cars didn't.

Every bird I've seen that has traction control has the switch below the AC controls beside the cigarette lighter. If you don't have it you will just have an empty compartment there instead. Also look under your hood if you see a black box by your battery with lines going across the top of your engine you have it, if not you don't.

Does anyone know how to bleed the brakes when you have traction control? I heard there is a special way you have to do it?

You do it with a pressure bleeder. If you dont maintain a certian fluid pressure it will mess with your abs, but not so sure about traction control since i dont think that the traction control has anything to do with the brake system rather it works on engine timing i believe. If im wrong someone please chime in..

Yeah, your wrong.
Just bleed it normally. You can use a pressure bleeder by yourself or get some one to push the pedal the old fashioned way.

i never used a pressure bleeder, but i used 2 people...
For a T/A the TCS botton is in front of the shifter on the dash, BELOW the radio.
For Camaros, it's under the air vents and above the radio to the right of the fog light switch.

GM says to and they said to also use a Tech2 to cycle the valves when bleeding but I have had 0 issues with that.

Those things just make it easier but the poor man can still get it done the old fashioned way.

When I had my engine out at a Pontiac dealer they disconnected the brake lines at the ABS block. They didn't do anything special, just hooked them back up and bled the brakes normally. The pedal felt real good. Now if after a good bleeding you still feel air in the lines the dealer can attach the Tech2 or whatever and cycle the valves. My car didn't need that done.

like said above, it was an option. People have different opinions about it, but personally I think it is very annoying and always turn it off, even in bad weather.
