It would reduce body roll in the rear. Depending on how the rest of the cars setup is, it could help a little or a lot.

alot of people argue to not go bigger than a 22mm for a rear swaybar cause the rear will be tail happy. Drag racers typically go with a bigger bar in the rear to launch the car straight.

So, for drag racing the bigger the better basically?

Happy tail is always a good thing

If you don't push it around corners too hard, a 25 won't be so bad on the street, but I'd recommend upgrading your front bar to balance the car. If you push it, a 25 will make the car loose... which I wouldn't say is always a good thing.

A bar with a stiffer rate than your current bar will increase rear roll resistance, increasing oversteer or decreasing understeer. In laymans terms, the higher rear rate will cause the rear end to slide towards the outside of the curve. If your front end tends to push, then this rear sliding will neutralize the front - if you choose the right combination of rates. If your front end does the opposite, then adding that bigger rear bar will cause it to spin out quicker.

There are different setups for turning vs. burning. If the car is a drag trailer queen, remove the front bar and put on something like a 25-28mm rear bar. If it's autox/RR, it'll take a bit more time to find out which works best for your driving style. Many are happy with the results of a solid 32/35 in front matched with a solid 19/21/22 in the rear.

Well, I don't plan on auto-xing, I mostly drag race, but I'm just sick of the body roll I have. Can't take a ramp too fast because it feels like the car is about to roll over.

What size bar would you recommend for me?

You guys have to get over this "I don't autox" thing. What you wrote there shows you do worry about the handling, and handling is handling whether it's jumping onto I-95, or running around a parking lot.....

A large issue is the lack of decent shocks, that's a lot of the reason the car feels like it'll fall over. The shocks control the rate of the roll. The bars control the actual amount of the roll.... Limit the roll amount and even if the rate is still high the car will feel less floppy since it's not moving as far. Slow the roll down and even if the amount of roll is unchanged the car will feel a lot better because you aren't just dumping over to one side all of a sudden. Work with both and you'll see an unbelieveably HUGE change in stability of the car. It'll be easier to drive faster.

Asking what's recommended here is like asking Coke or Pepsi. Everyone has an opinion. Also you don't know if the person giving them is knowledgeable or not. I'll recommend you call and speak to someone who can help you in person, like myself. It's what I do all day long, and that was we can talk over what you want and need based on *you*, and not a bunch of random opinions.

Well, I was just curious on which size bar to go with. Shocks will come next spring along with new springs, but for now I'm just deciding which bar to get.

So, what would you recommend for someone like me?

You already asked what I'd recommend "for someone like me", and I told you that I can't and won't recommend anything without having more information. Some folks will, but they are more interested in the bottom line than making sure you have something suitable. If you just want some random recommendation, I'm not your guy.....

Again, if you'd like to call me, we can discuss what "someone like me" actually entails and get you the proper parts. It should be noted that I carry a variety of swaybars, not just ours, but Addco's (who other uses with different paint), ST, even Hotchkis..... Recommendations around here aren't driven by what I have in stock because I try to make sure I cover the bases. That way you know you get what you need vs. what someone is trying to sell you.

the usual recomendation is a 35mm front paired with a 22mm rear, both hollow bars. That is a typical combination. You could also go the 1le route that has a 32mm front and a 21mm rear bar. Another general rule is to go large as you can on the front 35mm and pair it up with a 19,21,or 22mm rear depending on how your car reacts now and what you want it to do. NOTE I AM THE RANDOM ANSWER. Sam will have the correct answer you need. The info i posted are what i have generally seen on the boards with what people go with.

It's strano@stranoparts.com

But, e-mail is basically just what we are doing here, and won't be of any further help. We work 11-7 specifically for this reason, so east coasters can all after work if they need to.

I can't make a recommendation by the internet that has any certainty to it. If you want me to make my best guess, I'll already tell you 35/22 hollow to get the roll stiffness up in front, up a little in back and save some weight.
