Default Front brake discs?

I have searched everywhere online and cant find any information on front brake discs for a 2000 z28. My buddy's discs are warped and are going to need replaced. Thinking of puting oem discs back on but cant find a part number anywhere. Any ideas? This is not a race car or a daily driver so he does'nt need anything special. Thanks

Tell him to go to Autozone and get the Durastop rotors. They're just like OEM, 'cept for I think that they're a little bit thicker.

It's what I run on my car, along with Hawk HPS pads. The car brakes so much better now than when I first got it. You can get rotors and pads for under $200.

I second that suggestion. Stock rotors are too thin for our cars and tend to warp after some highway speed panic braking. Aftermarket rotors are thicker and do not warp. I have KVR rotors and have had zero issues. I warped my stock rotors twice and got rid of them after the second time.

thats where i got my rotors from, i got EBC rotors but i dont see them anymore. get a slotted rotor though, they will never warp again, they are a sponsor too, so look at that link or look at other sponsors links

The question remains as to why the discs warped in the first place. Up grading stock brakes does take a certain level of commitment. If he is not racing or daily driving what is he doing?

Bens, the stock rotors on these cars (as delivered from the factory) had serious warping issues. I warped mine (street use only with stock pads and no abuse) at 7,500 miles. The GM rotors either had internal casting stresses or were just garbage, but they need replaced as soon as you get the car home.

I tried to make sure mine were warped enough that the dealer monkeys could tell and got them super hot the night before I was to take it to them and once they got hot they really acted warped. Once they cooled, they were fine. Apparently, I stress relieved them from the heat. I changed them myself not long after that and had no problems since (I'm now running one of your 6 piston Wilwood kits and have no issues as well).
