best of 3 Torque arms
I know this has been asked and answered before but what at are the differences between the UMI, BMR and Spohn torque arms? Vibration, handling, noise maintanance, performance, etc. Which is better for street car with about 600rwhp that will see limited drag time?

However it says Powder Coated and you mentioned it was painted, maybe there is another one out there or it has changed recently.

My guess is any of them would handle 600 hp. The kind that mount to the tranny in a poly bushing don't make any noise, but is very important to keep that poly bushing lubed.

People have also broken the tailshaft off of transmissions before using tranny mounted torque arms, but it is very rare........

Hi
If you plan on a tranny mount torque arm, the problem with the Spohn is it does not fit very well. I bought one for my 98 and it did not clear the factory Y pipe. I then installed Mac headers and a Mac Y pipe and I still could not get it on. I replaced it with a BMR unit that fit perfectly.

If you are running high power and 600hp seems high, you may want to consider the floormount torque arm. If you stick with the tranny mount design, you risk damaging or cracking the tailshaft of the transmission. I am look at a floormount design now as my tranny tailshaft seal has worn out and I am basically stock.

We offer a full length adjustable torque arm with our relocation bracket. This set up provides the best of both worlds. A long torque arm for handling and it is relocated off the transmission to relieve the load from the tailshaft for drag racing. The interior noise from this combination is a very minimal compared to the tunnel mounted torque arms. This torque arm and relocation kit is a proven performer in Rodney's(smokin01ta) car https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-results/408659-heres-cam-only-videos-10-281-run-wheelies.html

spohn does make two versions of floor pan mounts. one version is better for ground clearance. they are loud but when you see it in your hands you will understand that they are bad @ss

I have the older style Spohn tunnel mount TA. It's a 2-pc design and the crossmember is square tubing instead of the newer tubular style. Compared to the newer style mine does seem to have more ground clearance, bit it still sits low. I found the key to minimizing the road noise was correct pinion angle.
