The C-clamp has always worked for me. Is the C-clamp in good condition, screw not binding or seizing, have oil on the threads? Once you have the clamp as tight as you dare get it, you could gently tap on the caliper with hammer to see if the shock makes it break free.

Do you have the old brake pad in or out? I would take it out and put the clamp right on the piston.

I dont know what year the car is or what car your trying to get the piston back in but on some cars the piston actually screws out. There is a tool for getting those pistons back in. There would be to grooves in the piston and the tool looks like a metal rubicks cube without the colors. its universal and each side works on a diffrent caliper piston. If your problem is the rear pistons that sounds like that it your problem get the tool, hook a ratchet up to it and twist away.

its on the front brakes i used the c-clamp to compress the other side and it worked fine but the other wont move a millimeter. i will look at the piston and see if there is a groove

No grooves, not screw in pistons, shouldfit right in. Mitchntx has a write up on install university that shows rebuilding the caliper, that might be useful to you.
