Default Everyone who wants to hook great and pull wheels needs qa1s and et street radials!!!

i went to the atco this saterday for the first time with my new qa1s
R shocks with 325 springs up front and regular 12 ways for the back with stock springs

i had them set at 1/1 front and 5/6 back

and now im hookin like crazy!!! i pulled the wheels...not only the driverside a few inches but i lifted the passanger side like 6-8 inches!!!! and im gettin got 60 ft times high 1.6s and this is all on a MT ET street radial set at 14 lbs

i went to etown a few weeks ago but all i got was wheel hop even with the whole sphon suspention TA, LCA, panhard, brakets for the lcas on a 12 bolt with 4.11s and the etstreet radials.

i called up MADMAN and he told me that my shocks were hurtin me bad and told me the exact set up to get. And it worked like a charm.

THANKS MADMAN

now i had some bad problems with my hydrolic fluid being so hot and it was not shiftin to second so i let her sit for and hour and got my last pass of the day 11.91 @ 117 with a 1.70 60 ft and that was shiftin soft and slow so i did not get locked out again. i think next time i will set the shocks at 2/2 and 4/5 becasue is launchin so hard that its boggin me down a bit and i think my foot cam off the gas a little so now next time i will be gettin 11.60s for sure and 119 mph!!!

Running a skinny up front or a Stock type wheel?

Shocks is one of the things I will do by next spring, just have to decide on the rates yet.

the tire is a 255/50/16 on a stock firebird rim set at 14lbs for that 11.91 run but it was hooken just as well i think at 16 i just wanted to try it lower and im runnin a 165r15 up front on a convo pro 15x4 set at 42 lbs
this is also how i run it on the street every day

as for springs the 325 are great at the track and handle better the stock on the street. i went with what madman told me to get. this is still a street car so i did not wana get a race only spring. madman recomends for street/strip for an auto with alot of front wieght reduction done to get the 275 spring, auto with no weight reduction or m6 with most weight reduction done get the 300 spring, and for a m6 with pretty much full wieght in the front to get the 325 spring. the reason being is that the hight rate will keep the car fomr bottemin out on the street and the reason for going high rate in an m6 is more stored energy to plant the tires harder. m6 cars need more help. track shot settins are 1/1 front and 5/6 rear...street is 5/5 front and 4/4 rear. i find these to be the best setting for me.

Cool thanks for the info. I am doing all the front end stuff this winter(k-member,a arms, qa1's,lightweight brake setup). Plus my car is an auto and only sees about 15 to 20 miles a week if that. I am going to do more research but i plan on doing the 275.

ya thats the way to go for you but just be warned that you have to adjust the spring almost to the top of the shock body probably

sounds like a cool setup

i drive my car way to much to put a k-member or light brakes

I have the Qa1 12-way adjustables all 4-corners/325 lb springs front and Stock rear springs/ 6 point KB Cage/ Full suspension/ 12-bolt 4.10's/Stock K-Member/ Stock Clutch/ Stock Motor/ Nitto NT-555RII 275/40/17 Extreme R RoadRace/Autocross Sidewall Drag Radials in Rear/ Stock 275/40/17 Goodyear F1's in Front/ and Heavy *** Chrome Zr1's all around, Full Street Weight, No Weight Reduction, Fully Loaded, Every GM Option Car!!!!

Was at Norwalk in Oct 2004, 16lbs Psi in NittosDR, on a Sunny 70* degree day, wrinkling the autocross stiff sidewalls, pulling both front tires of the ground about 8 inches, From 4,500 to 6,000 rpm, the car was pulling the tires off the ground for every run, Shocks were at 1 on front and 3 in the rear, the car was running consistent 12.66 & 12.67 Et's at 109mph with 1.74 60fts !!!

with the shocks and springs and with the shock of the clutch disengauging seems to be the ticket to lift the wheels haha but...

with stock suspention, full wieght(same as now), lid, catback, stock clutch, stock 10 bolt with 3.42s, and a nitto

i pulled 12.40 @ 113+ with a 1.95 60ft and i pulled a 12.38 @ 112 with a 1.85 60ft(different days)

but i was not pullin the wheels man which would have been awesome haha

The car started pulling the tires off the ground dumping the clutch at 4,500rpm and it kept getting alittle bit higher all the way up to 6,000rpm launches....I did it in 500rpm increments!!!!
