Default Carbotech Pads...

Can someone recommend what Carbotech pads to go with, XP9, XP8, or another one? I'll be mostly spirited mountain driving and I'll be going to Road Atlanta and VIR whenever possible. Car is for the most part my daily driver. Thanks!

Power and weight of the car?

I'm running XP10s on the front and XP8s on the rear of my CMC race car.

The car is 232/290 and weighs 2950 ...

I ran Panther Plus pads on my '98 street car (400/400 @3500 lbs) with good results.

As with any performance pad, they will dust like crazy. And you need to get that dust off the wheels and car ASAP.

I'm currently running my XP8 front (on 6 piston wilwoods) and Panther Plus rears. These are leftover from this years autocross events. If I were were going to recommend pads for a mostly street car (such as mine), I'd suggest Panther Plus on all corners. I've run that combo and it worked great for me.

I was gona go with the P+ up front and the bobcats rear, but im not sure on what I want to do with the rears now. A couple of days ago on a freinds car we put P+ up front and wagners on back. After bedding the pads in the rears were smoking and that kinda worried me.

I ran Panther (before Panther Plus came out) and Super Street rears on a VW GTI that I used to own and that combo worked well. Honestly, the P+ on both ends works well for me. I am using an XP8 since they didn't have the P+ material thick enough to make Wilwood pads (.800 thick, the P+ material is only .625 thick). So, instead of buying "1/2 a set" (ok, 3/4) of pads, I went to XP8's. They work well and I'm even driving them in the snow on snow tires, but they are really hard on rotors when it's cold.

I had thermoquiets in the back as well, and they smoked as they were bedded in, which I can expect from several street pads as they are bedded in as well.

And if you leave that dust on your shiny part of your cars paintjob, expect it not to come off easily, unless you use some sort of claybar cleaning system. That was the only thing that seemed to work for me, as well as removing all of that "industrialised" waste stuck on the paints surface.
