Default control arm help

I just installed a set of tubular lca's over the weekend and now it feels like the shocks are popping.... it never done this before i installed them.. i followed the instructions on installuniversity.com... any ideas??????

Feels or sounds like popping? I'd just double check you torqued them down tight enough that there isn't any slop.

it sounds and feels like there popping ... its pretty loud

did u torque them to 70 lb ft?? are they lubed? are the nuts and bolts installed correctly? meaning the head of the bolt is on the outside and the nut on the inside or however they were stock?

yeah i definetly lubed them i just have to throw a torque wrench on there and double check the 70lbs... and i believe the bolts are in the right way

damn i could of how many pumps??? or do you just wait until it comes out the sides.. if i did over lube how do i fix

if you over lubed, your gonna need to get new bushings if they mushroomed. you just need a pump and a 1/2 or so..maybe not even that much. try removing the zerk fitting and see if any oozes out. the bushings are just halves so you can just pull them out. I have spohn lcas and ordered new bushings for about $30 bucks i think it was...

After my subframe install my LCA's popped also. Just retorqued them and all was good. Make sure they're tight enough.

so i took the zerk fittings off yesterday and bounced the back of my car, three inches of lube came out.. yeah i know but then i torqued the bolts down to 70lbs drove off and it was fixed.... until this morning doing the same thing ... the nuts prolly backed off, ill throw some locktite on the bolts this time.. thanks for all the help

Alright guys this is really frustrating. i torqued the bolts down to 75lbs and threw locktite on this s.o.b and the knocking noise is back... any suggestions i was thinking of buying polys and some nylon threaded nuts..... any help would be great

I'd suggest torqing down the LCA bolts to 90 ft/lbs. That's the advice from UMI regarding the popping noise. That's is, provided you've not over lubed the bushings.

Have been doing this since they were installed. How would over lubing them cause the clunking noise? I know my bolts are tight enough; I don't think I could get them much tighter.

i think i found the problem..... i also replaced my rearend cover when i did my lca... i think the sway bar is hitting the cover... is there one that sticks out a little farther????? thanks
