it depends on where you live and what you'll be using it for.

If its a daily driver and you live in an area with nasty winters then I'd say traction control is pretty nifty.

But if its just a weekender car in say texas or florida then I would go out of my way to get a car without traction control

For a daily driver it's worth it, for a weekend cruiser, it's worth it. The "Traction control option" is gone with the press of a button. I'd rather have the option to have it and turn it off then not have it at all. It's awesome in the rain. It seems to kick on more in the rain than snow. But obviously I drive a little more cautious in the snow.

I agree with 89KARR. It definitely can come in handy if your car is a daily driver. Some people will say "if you really knew how to drive, you wouldn't need it". Don't listen to that. It makes the car easier to deal with on a daily basis if you live in rainy/snowy areas, period.

Even if it is a weekend cruiser if you get stuck in a rain storm its nice to have especially with summer performance tires that don't stick worth sh*t when the grounds wet.

I have it TCS (cost $450), and I have the SLP module that turns it off each time I start the car (cost $60). So, it's cost me $510 to buy, and then disable, an option that I never use. I do drive my car in the winter (it's a daily driver) on snow tires and sumers on summer tires and I never use it. My car has 72,000 miles on it and I bet the TCS has been used less than 500 miles (I'd forget to turn it off once in a while before I got the SLP module).

I'd pass on it if it were me.

I like mine. It makes things easier in the rain. So for a daily driver, it is good, but if its weekend, and you wont be driving in the rain too much, it doesnt matter too much.

I live in Florida and I went out of my way to get a 6spd w/tcs. I finaly found one with 26k miles in St. Louis, I flew up there and drove it back. All the for the tcs option. I wouldnt get another car without it.

I've always considered taction control a waste of money on these cars at this level.

However, I have an instructor's job where I drive Z06 Vettes and the traction control has to be on per company guidelines.

I must say, it is a heckuva crutch when one feels like really pushing the car. It has kept the car well off the edge ....

I tried to order one without it, but at the time it was too late
in the final model year for any such luck.

I would've been content to get rid of ABS too, for credit, as
I have owned about 20 cars without and only one with, which
is current leaking from it (Lincoln, special only-used-on-two-
years brake system, great).

But in retrospect I'm sure I have not-spun-out on account of
it plenty of times; you can say it's a waste of money "at this
level" but an "over-powered" car is exactly where you need
the backup. Just like ABS saves you in panic stops when you
forget your threshold braking due to surprise or whatever.

It would have been nice of them to make it not apply at WOT
though. The problem is not that it exists, or even the couple
of hundred bucks at this point; it's that it's stupid, clumsy and
slow (that, and you have to press a button to make it shut up
and then see the annoying indicator light).

But it's kept me pointing forward in the rain.

I think its only worth it if you want to get a 9inch and keep ABS, other than that, I say its in the way. I see it as one more thing in the way under the hood, and one more thing that can break and cause problems when it does.

I just recently moved to TX. Before that, I lived up north and drove on lots of slippery wet, snow, ice roads and always with the traction control off.

I say its better just to learn how to drive on the stuff

That's been my approach. It only takes one time of the traction control "killing" the throttle when you are trying to drive through a slide (which can spin the car when the power comes off) before you swear never to bother with that POS again. I just drive it, snow, rain, etc. I NEVER turn it on, ever.

Your results may vary.

i think its a waste of money, like stated earlier, if you know how to drive then you wont need it. the people that disagree with this dont know how to correct a car in a spin or skid. if you correct the car with the TCS on, then the car catches and jerks and makes it feel alot worse than it actually was. i never drive with mine on and its a daily driver.

I liked mine so much I pulled the fuse to permanently disable it. Having driven a stick for many years, I found it to be more dangerous (for me) than anything. You grow to expect the car to do certain things and when the Traction Control kicks in, those things don't happen.

Thats how I feel.

Mine never kicks on unless I hit a nasty puddle or some snow. This is my first car with it so I know how to deal with out it. Having it is just an extra layer of help. I see nothing wrong with it. If I want to play I just flick it off
