It said to clear cloat them in the instructions also on the page... Does anyone know what I am talking about and know the link to the web site or that thread?

Absolutely not necessary to clear coat over a decal . . . would you clear coat over pin striping? Or other body graphics?

Red Calipers, Silver Brackets, Brushed Chrome Letters.

Black letters, won't be very visible.

We have them and we do advise to put a clear coat over them...why? Because the caliper surface isnt exactly smooth, it has pits in it, plus the brakes get very hot during braking, so a high temp clear coat over them will help keep them from pealing from the heat.

On my last car I sandblasted the calipers and used Plasti-Coat caliper paint...3 coats...that stuff was tough as nails. As WS6store said, they are sort of rough, but I didn't have any peeling problems w/o clearcoat. I had the brushed stainless letters with red calipers.

This time I'm doing black calipers with red or silver lettering...probably red to match the car.
