Brake Fluid Flush
Well since the search function is all jacked up right now, Ill go ahead and ask this question even though Im sure it was answered long ago. Anyway, Im considering flushing my brake system myself, so Im curious what is all involved in such a task. From what I know, I just bleed each line while pouring new fluid in at the MC until clean fluid comes out, then switch to the next line and repeat. Is this correct?

Not sure on just a flush, but I just put new brakes on my car, different calipers and rotors and all of the fluid out of the master cylinder, and I started with the pass side rear, driver rear, pass frt, diver front. I was very obvious when the new fluid came through compared to the old. I think there is some stuff you can run through for a flush, its blue or green colored so you can tell when it comes through, but I just put in new fluid and bled each bleeder screw (strange brake calipers have 4 bleeders on each caliper), it took almost three bottles to fill mine up and bleed. Hope this helps

Suck as much out of the MC as you possibly can with a turkey baster
refill the MC
bleed at each wheel ... pass rear, driver rear, pass front, driver front
Keep the MC full. Use a full quart rotating around to eachcorner after about 15 or so pumps.
Or you can just let it gravity bleed ...

Get yourself a pair of bottles, then gravity bleed, or enlist the help of a friend to pump the pedal. I picked up a couple sets of Earl's Solo Bleeders so I can quickly bleed them myself, but the bottles are the most important brake bleeding tool to have.

Hi Folks
Look at Eastwood's site - they have a Brake bleeder that keeps a continuous supply of brake fluid in the reserve. Maybe one of the sponser's has one also. Also start from the farthest point from the master cylinder, and so on, so on. If you don't have a force feeder, continuously check the master Cylinder.

I bought 3 bottles after installing the strange brakes on all four corners, so I know everything was completely empty, and I had about half of the third bottle left after bleeding.

BTW I did it over the weekend. Used 1 full bottle of valvoline synthetic (64oz)
Not bad for around 5 bucks....I also bought one of those mityvac things, works ok at best, just wish the fittings were better.
Also Mitch if you could answer this for me. My front driver side was DIRTY AS ****. It was far dirtier than any of the other 3 and had a lot of particles in it. Does my caliper need to be rebuilt, or is this common since its closest to the master cylinder?
