Default New Spohn Torque arm in, new problem!

I had my gm dealer put in my new floor mounted spohn mild steel lt1 w/ long tube headers torque arm. However, whenever I launch the car, or raplidly accelerate or shift hard, I feel a clunk come from under the car. Almost as if the torque arm is shifting or shifting the floor or popping the metal. I drove it around for 15 minutes after I got it back from the shop and I took it back, they said to take it back tomorrow to get it checked out. Any ideas what could cause this?

I have the same T/A, it will clunk as the mount is movable. As the weight shifts, the mount pivots and the result is the noise. You can try tightening the swival point a bit but this can cause bind.(It's supposed to move)

Keep tightening a little at a time and try it. It will eventually quiet down quite a bit. There will still be times when you get clunks though. It's made to pivot at the front mount and that is what you are hearing.

Mine does it too. I have -1 degree pinion angle. I have heard that it pinion angle can increase the likeliness for it to clunk on acceleration or hard stopping, but I haven't checked myself. I'll be re-setting mine to 0 when I install springs and see if that helps a bit. Plus I do not need to preload the suspenssion for Road Course duty. But I've had mine in its current setting for over a year with several Road Course Track days and 1/4 mile passes and everything is holding together fine. Hope this helps.
