get a 6inch c-clamp and put one end on the brake pad and the other end on the other side on the caliper and start clamping it, make sure you watch the brake fliud so it doesn't over flow. when you clamp it the brake piston will get pushed back inside and the caliper will come right off the rotor

When you say to take off the brake pad bracket are you talking about the bracket that the 12mm bolts are attached to. I loosened the 12mm bolts but they do not back off enough for the bracket with the pads to pull away from the brake discs. Are you talking about the complete assembly where you have to remove the 18mm bolts?

ok I think I know what you problem is when you loosed those two bolts from the brake pad braket, you'll have to completely remove them.. when you turn the bolt to loosen you'll have to use a wrench by the rubber part cause the whole thing turns inside..( you'll see a flat spot on the smooth part of the bolt where the rubber is, put the wrench there and start backing the the bolt out
