Default How Long Before OEM Brakes Need Replaced

I have an '02 Formula that just hit 36K miles.

I do a lot of around town and start and stop driving.

Is there an average mileage that brakes might need to be replaced?

Thanks.

All 4 of my rotors were warped at 20,000 miles. So your already doing much better than I did!

From what I've seen on my car the pads are fine but the rotors will warp real quick. Autozone has some good rotors that won't warp. If someone could chime in and say what kind...?

My rotors were warped all around and I didn't need front pads until 40k miles (i don't beat on my car except for the track). Anyway, replaced the fronts with the autozones and some raysbestos quietstops. At 55k miles, the autozone rotors looked like crap (rusty) but still performed well. I went with an all around xdrilled/slotted/plated setup with ceramics. Broke them in per instructions on Baers website, haven't had a problem for 7k miles.

My first set went about 50K miles. I'm on my second set now at about 101K, but they're due to be replaced.

They don't shake on the car? Can you elaborate on that? I think I have warped rotors, because I hear thuds coming from the rear whenever I'm just rolling or slowing down. Thanks in advance for the info.

One of the common signs of warped rotors on any car I have ever owned is the virbations you feel when you stop or stop fast. Becuase the rotor is out of round and when the caliper pushes on the pad the rotor is out of round and is actually "wobbling". Hope that makes sense.
