Default Anyone running the Autozone Powdercoated Red Calipers

Hi! I see that Autozone has front and rear red (rebuilt) powdercoated calipers for F-bodies on their website. Anyone running them? They're $100.00 for the pair and I'm considering them.

Thanks!

I bought a pair (unpowder coated) for spares to take to the track with me.
They come with abutment brackets, new guide pins and brake pads.

They look fine, but I haven't used them yet, so I couldn't tell you anything beyond that.

Are these sourced from/rebuilt PBRs, or from some other manufacturer??

I have the red ones. I got the Corvette fronts instead of the fbody. The corvette calipers are pressure cast supposedly. The fbody are just gravity cast. I have had them installed since May '05. They are holding up quite well to the elements. My car is a daily driver 8 months of the year.

They come complete with new slides, bolts, and anti-rattle clips. The rears come with new brake baskets. The fronts you have to reuse old ones. I painted the brake baskets in the front Nu-cast to contrast the red.

Here is some pics from when they were installed last year.

Thank you for the great pics. Any comments on the quality of the powdercoating or the rebuild? Did you get them shipped direct or through your local Autozone?

Thanks again!

I run them AZ rebuilt caliper on the rear of my Caprice and the are working fine after 40K, I took them apart before installing them and they appear to be quality remaned units.

I purchased them thru the local Autozone. The first set of fronts I had an issue with the passenger side caliper sticking. I had them order a new set in and just switched out the passenger side caliper. No issues since.

The powdercoating is average for what you are purchasing. There are a few spots around the bolt holes that the powdercoating did not adhere properly and it has cracked and flaked some. But for the most part, the part that is visible to the outside is still good.

I have the car apart now for the 9" install. I will try to snap some more pics so you can see what they look like after a years worth of use.
