Default I finally got my Strange Front Brakes installed

Well I've been doing a little working for a while now(on the car) Today I got the Strange front brakes about 95% complete At first I was a little intimidated about starting this portion of the install but with Jay Billingley's help in answering my questions it all came together once I actually started tightening bolts. Here's a link to the Strange brakes install pictures that I took, hopefully they'll help anyone thinking about this in the future All I have left is to shim the calipers a little, then figure how to route the brake lines to clear everything

HERE'S a sneak preview of the next thing on the list then its time to get this engine together

Well time to get my *** back in the garage

I'll be back

What's the weight savings? Are these brakes okay for everyday driving? Or are they more suited for the weekend warrior type of car?

BTW, they look very good.

Well I'm going to see if I can get away with gentle drive every once in a while. I think the rotors are around $85 a piece if they warp. I'm going try to get a temp of the rotors at the end of the drag strip after back to back runs and see what the temp is and try not to go over that when I'm driving on the street

Does anyone know how much fun reading a micrometer for 6 hours is?

The one bad thing about this kit is the instructions suck ***.

JS is right these were not made to go on the street but I'm going to see if I can make it work for the limited time I actually drive this thing, remember I really used to only drive to and from the track.

Lol....not to take away from your brake install, which looks awesome btw, but did anyone notice what is coming up next on his car? Carbon fiber rocks!! Approximately how much weight does that save?

Well the hood is actually a fiberglass flat pin on hood. I got if from Thunder Racing I don't know if its on their web site but just give them a call and they'll take care of you Its a Glasstek hood and its shipped freight collect. It cost me $86 just for shipping to Jersey from Illinois I barely ordered the hood before a price increase from the manufacture so I don't know what Thunder will charge now.

Hopefully I'll find a little time somewhere in this week to start installing the hood, I'll be using the Dzus fastner kit availible from Jegs. 10 recessed pins from under $50. I'll make sure this thing stays on the car at speed before it gets a treatment of NBM paint

I post whatever tips I can once the hoods attached

Did you weigh this hood compared to the stocker?
How much weight savings?

Chris I don't have a scale big enough to weigh this stuff but going from what's been made availible the stocker is between 33-35lbs and the lift off hood is around 12-13 without the fastners(they aren't gonna add that much once installed) When I get a break for work(been kicking my *** lately) I stack the hoods so everybody can see the difference
