Default my brakes shutter... some help please

well now its really bad, figure its warped rotors. i know the dealership wont replace them b/c its a "wearing" part. so should i just go get some autozone rotors and some pads?? what kind of pads should i get i want something that works really well? do u think by replacing this that it will get rid of the problems??

Drew how many miles do ya have? If you have under 10k you still have a warranty on them. If you get the autozone rotors go with new stock pads.

I'd have to agree that the rotors are probably warped, I'd go with the Raybestos QS pads.

If they are you can just get them turned. You normally can turn rotors three times if they are not to bad. BUT it is known that they have bad rotors and more often warp again.

I sometimes have that problem also.
I said "sometimes" because when I had the PCV venting to atmosphere with the Intake vacumn plugged off; I had NO braking vibrations.
With the PCV hooked up; I get the braking studder.
I think it could also be due to a Vacumn problem.
Go figure???? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Turn the rotors, reuse the old pads (if they look good) and make sure that the wheels are torqued to 100ft. lbs. every single time the tires are taken off of the vehicle. That is information that is given by GM technical assistance. Torque is crucial.

We had similar brake pulse from rotor warp. Went at the Dealer gently but Firm and persistant and were only able to get them turned. I know at first I expected them just to warp again but they've actually been just fine now for a lot of miles. I'm wondering that the initial warping "set" the castings and after being trued with a fresh turning that they will be OK. So far so good.

These rotors are not the sturdiest. Reminds me of Honda Accords that used to come back to the shop with warped rotors after a brake job. We enquired the brake rotor company , whom later sent us a rotor torque specs for all cars.
Turned out we've been over torquing with our air guns.
