Default squeking noise

i have a 2002 SS w/ only 3100 miles on it, and now the rear passenger side suspension squeaks. not sure if it is the lca or the panhard rod. its a very high pitch squeak. i tried bouncing the car by getting on the passenger side w/ the door open and jumping up and down to make that squeak noise, but no noise. so i grabbed the rear tire's rim and shook the car side to side and i heard that squeak noise. it seems that it only happens when the car hits a bump unevenly where it shakes the car side to side. in other words, it will squeak on rough roads, but if i drive over a speed bump, it doesnt squeak. the wierd thing is that it sounds like its coming from the inside of the car. but once i open up the passenger side window, i can hear it. its pretty loud. does anyone know what this is??
im pretty sure its easy to fix, but hard to find the problem.

thanks

Your not alone dood! I have been having the same problem for a month or so now. "Chirpy/squeaky" noise coming from the passenger rear quarter panel area... suspension? ...exhaust? I have NO clue what it is, but it is gawd awful, and it MUST go!

I've been up under the car several times with no luck figuring it out. I even took a GM tech for a ride, and stumped him. Like you said g00dguy, when I drive over a speed bump or something, no noise. If I drive over a rough patch of road, there it is. But... It also does it when the exhaust note hits a certain pitch, but I see nothing wrong with the exhaust. Its not rubbing anywhere and it doesn't squeak when I shake it.

all i know is that the noise is definitely coming from the outside car, not inside. it is really loud too. when i close my window i can hear it.
i'm pretty sure my warranty will cover this, its just that im afraid they will not know whats causing the squeking.

I had the same problem and returned the car to the dealer. They replaced the rear shock absorber and the squeek vanished....

I replied to your email. Just get under the rear passenger side of the car. There's no need to jack it up or to remove the wheel. You'll see where the exhuast attaches to the rubber hanger.

I know its not the spare tire or jack(they have been removed). And I'm pretty sure its not the exhaust hanger. It could possibly be the shock absorber, or maybe the LCA. I just don't know!

g00dguy, if/when you take it in to have it checked out, lemme know what they said please.

Thanks!

last night at work, while i was on my break, a ford f-250 truck slowly drove right past me on a rough road and i heard the same exact squeaking noise im having.
the squeaking noise from my car has calmed down a little, it doesnt squeak alot as it did a couple days ago. it doesnt do it on every bump on a rough road. sometimes a really small bump causes it to squeak. im going to have my brother drive it while i try to listen and find out where exactly the noise is coming from.

update on the sqeaking noise.
the squeaking noise is not coming from the rear,
i was driving my car and had my brother listen for the noise and he said it sounded like it was coming from the front passnger side.

I had this same problem on the front passenger side of my 99. I am pretty sure it was the spring rubbing at the top of the strut. I could spray WD40 on the top of the spring and the sound would go away for a week or so. After I put lowering springs and new shocks on the car the noise went away.

i took my car to the dealer
to have it checked,
they couldn't really hear it, but
they went ahead and lubed the front
and rear suspension, and the squeaking
noise is gone!!!!
i guess what happen was when they built the car,
they didnt put enough lube on the suspension
and it just started squeaking

ohh well, im glad its over
