Can slotted/drilled rotors be cut?
#3
No problems,i have done it many times with my cars.
Just need to take light passes and the lathe will thank you for it.
(As long as there is rotor thickness to remove, all is good!)

I asked this question some time ago, and was told the drilled holes and slots would need to be rechamfered after the rotors were turned. That didn't make it sound like a worthwhile investment....I figured just buying new rotors would be more practical. But if several of you have had it done without any issues, then it must be ok to do.

this is true, you should not cut/turn slotted or cross dilled rotors. most slotted rotors are slotted to the thiness thickness anyway.

They can be machined just like reg. rotors as long as they are within spec. However, they need to be rechamfered or they will form stress cracks at the sharp edges around the holes...
