Default Kuhmo 712's or GSC's

I need to buy 4 new 245/50/16's. Here's the dilemma I'm having:

My car is leased and I'm turning it back it after winter so I want something inexpensive. But, I need something that'll get me through a Michigan winter. My stock GSC's made it through two winters already. I can get a set of Kuhmo Ecsta 712's for $371 shipped or I can go the SLP route and get GSC take-offs for $400 plus shipping. I'm guessing about $500 total.

Here's the question:
Has anyone tried Kuhmo's in the winter?

Let's here some recommendations.

Thanks,

Dan

of course you would be able to move in the snow just dont get down on it or try racing in the snow...in sticky situations with weather just use common sense and everything will work out fine! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I'm not sure if I should take your advice on that or not since that was post 666 for you! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Maybe it's a bad omen. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Kuhmos are not all season tires. You don't want to drive through snow on them. Follow the plow. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Why not just get some cheap winter tires?

ExtremeZ28

I'm going to get a set of the Kumho's this week. I'll post once I get a feel for them.

Dom

I know they aren't all season tires. I'm trying to spend the least amount of money on tires possible since I'm getting rid of the car right after winter. There's no point buying two sets of tires, even if one is a cheap set of winter tires.

Thanks guys. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Thanks y2k_ta. I can have the Kumho's mounted, balanced, etc. for a total of $440. The GSC's will be about $520 with shipping/installation. Might as well save the $80.
