Default ET street???????????

I have 275-40-17 BFG drag radials on my car now, I have a prob with 1st. I was thinking of going to the same rim I have only making it a 15" and going with a DR withjust a bigger side wall or I was thinking of going to an ET street. How much better would the et grip than the DR? Would it be worth sacrificing the chance of getting stuck in the rain?? Thanks for the help/

Regardless, I drive on ET streets all the time and they are not very safe for driving around town. They float alot at high speeds and handle like ****. If you get caught in the rain, you are going no where till the road dries.

I've been rolling on ET Streets or similar stuff for a year now.

If you get caught in rain you will be driving around at 20-30mph... It once took me 2 hours to drive 50 miles.

Here is a pic of 26x11.5x16 ET Streets on 16x8 TT's... Probably the first set of TT's on a LS1 car... my buddy Joe's old car...

11.5 tire fits on a 8" rim? I like the 16's, I have 17" TT's I have had them for a while. I saw that car in GMHTP a while ago. Do you think I would be beter going with a 315 DR and getting a 17 x 10.5 TT or going to a 16" TT and getting ET's? About the same cost so its a mater of whats best. I drive the car alot so DR may be best.

I have seen an 800 HP car take ET streets for a whole season of hard driving and still have the big thread on them. I have seen Nittos completely flat after 30 days on a 347 cobra. Honestly if you plan on making more power go with the ET Streets. They float but you get used to that really quick. Driving in the rain isnt a problem, its the snow that gets a little difficult.

I'm looking to buy a set of the same stock 16x8 rims that are on my Z for track use only. What ET street can I go with and not have any problems. No rubbing or anything like that. Also, do you have to have your speedo calibrated for track use only ET streets, nothing will happen to the speedo or anything after I switch back to street tires.

16x8 rims? I'd ideally run 26x10.5x16 ET Streets. They really fit like stock. I'd air them up to 25-27psi for street driving but please keep in mind that they will pick a lot of rocks and are lousy in wet weather. In that pic H'Joe has 26x11.5x16 ET Streets on there, which I would really run for 16x9 rims (and I did).

The spoiler was modified and customized to work on his car, ask him @ jplunkett11@aol.com for what the spoiler cost.

DR's are really much better for the street unless you plan to streetrace all nite. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
