Default Front HAL shocks/springs.. even worth it?

Tell it to me straight, are HAL shocks really worth the trouble? I'm talking just the front 2 struts and drag springs. All i've seen is that almost everyone that has them wish they wouldn't have got them.

They do anything else besides make it look like your car's launching harder than it is by stretching the struts? any actual proven improvement?

If drag racing is most important to you then yes. They do allow a certain degree of adjustability and much improved weight transfer. Launches will be more consistant.

If you drive on the street alot I don't think you'll like them as much. They tend to make the front end bouncy.

For the ultimate setup get Afcos. They give more adjustment (extension and compression) and a much better ride. They aren't cheap though!

If you're not pulling 1.4 second 60 fts or better I'd just stay with the stockers.

If drag racing or lanching are the only thing you care for the hals are what you want. With my brakes the front air dam hits the ground b/c when you turn the adj. **** it changes both the fuid rates up and down so it drops almost as fast as it lifts! I only had them for 3months and hate them!

What would everyone recommend? I just ordered the HALS. I currently have Konis up front with ground control springs (thought I was going to get into road racing more)and the car handles great but I think it's too stiff for the street drag racing. I don't really want to spend the $800 for the AFCO's.

it takes just a few minutes to set the damping anywhere you want on all 4 corners with the hals on, wheels on and tires on the ground.

i have enjoyed the adjustability very much

if they are too bouncy ya need to get em off of zero hehe

Wow! I don't know how anyone would be unhappy with them. I love them. I think they are one of my favorite mods. There's nothing like pullin the wheels up in front of everyone when your leaving the shop. But thats cool, I guess they're not for everyone. You can adjust the ride height enough to avoid scraping. They definately helped me 60' much better and when stiffened they handle good too.

Mark, If you decide to let those koni's and ground controls go (cheap...lol) Let me know!!! I already have Koni DA shocks on the front and rear, but I am looking to pick up a set of Ground Control springs and perches to play with.(I had them on another car).

Hals may handle good when stiffened but they don't ride so good. I agree, they're not for everone.
