Default first suspension mods

hey guys, sorry if this question had been beaten to the ground, but what are the first and most importnat suspension mods. im looking for parts that will make my rear end last longer (torque arm), make the car launch better for the strip, and just make it soild altogether for street driving too. i was planning on goin down the road of torque arm, lcas, sfcs, and a panhard. are these good first suspension mods? if not, what is more important and will be the most beneficial?

thanks guys

Yes... It's been beaten to death.... What's good for the strip is the opposite of what you would need for "street driving" or handling. However, if the car only see's occasional track use, then:

1. Shocks (Bilstein's, revalved Bilstein's or Koni SA's)
2. Swaybar (a big front, 35mm+)
3. Tires (and a good custom alignment)

Those three will offer THE largest improvement for the street. These should be the FIRST mods always on a street car. Removing the front swaybar's endlinks will help with weight transfer at the strip.

If someone tells you that SFC's, LCA's or a TA is more important on a street car they're wrong, period... Wth the exception of maybe lowering springs (choose before selecting the shocks), these three mods will correct so many issues, that you'll be able to save money by not blindly throwing money at a problem you never had in the first place.

Scott.

100% agree, but I'd swap 2 with 3 but that's me. Tires make a huge difference.

Tires will show you where the weakest links in your suspension really are. When they don't give in corners and will grab if you can keep them on the ground, this question becomes much easier to answer according to the car and your tastes.

Good advice here, listen to it. Wish I'd done shocks first...

well my tires now are bald so im grabbin sum nittos most likely. i was looking into a torque arm just because i thought it would help get rid of my y pipe occassionaly rattling against the body. how would a torque arm be "bad" for street use? isnt it just always good to get one that will make my cars *** stay on the ground better?
