Default ABS INOP, ASR Off, and BRAKE lights on

Today my ABS INOP, ASR Off, and my BRAKE light came on all at the same time. I've done nothing at all to wheels, suspension, brakes. Just driving along and all three of those lights came on at once. Any ideas on what could have caused that?

Update: This is intermittent. Sometimes I start the car and the lights are off, but they all come on after a few miles. Sometimes they are already on when I start the car, and they stay on.

I want to bump this to the top, I have exact same issue. Except Mine started only yesterday and have not noticed it to be intermittent , they are always on with car running.

I have heard that that ABS sensor on the rear end can get dirty and cause this. I have had the same problem but never got around to checking the sensor so I cant say that was the cause for me or not?

Mine is still doing it, still intermittent. I had a Snap-On diagnostics tech scan the car with the "Latest/Greatest" scanner and he tells me that it is the alternator going bad. I've also gotten under the car to look for this dirty sensor on the rear end and I didn't find anything b/c I didn't know what to look for. Does anyone know what this thing is supposed to look like?

I don't have an answer for you, but i have the same exact issue when i put my Draglites/slicks on. I am not sure if its from the fronts or the backs....but i hate to see lights on the dash. Once i put the Z06 wheels back on, the lights go out.

You've probably got either one of the rear ABS sensors gone bad, or one side isn't getting a reading.

Thanks for the response! What makes you think that it is a rear one? What do I look for? I'm about to break down and take it to a shop to get fixed. This is driving me crazy!

Wheel sensor is screwing up. Get it scanned or get schematics and test each sensor for continuity and proper resistance.

If you have different height tires in front & rear you will get those lights. I do when I put my 26's in rear & 24's in front.

Yep, unequal tire dia's do that. Been there.

But if it's sensors, a Tech2 should be able see a stored code for which side to start looking at.

An overcharging alternator can set an ABS light, the guy may have been right.

Ya think? The lights frequently "pulse" at times. Maybe i've got TOO much alternator...I think that it still has the OK Highway Patrol alternator (B4C). That's a fairly expensive "let's change that and see if it works" method, though. I'll just have to give it a shot, though. Thanks for your post and if anyone else has any ideas, pls let me know!

I've got factory wheels and tires. I haven't heard this one, though. Thanks for the post!

Both those lights came on for me right after I changed my gears and started the car with the back end about 2 feet in the air still. Once I put the car down they both went off.

So my guess is the tire diameter is different or soemthing. Do you have staggered wheels like 17's front 18's back?

I just put new ones on today and the abs inop and brake light both came on. How do you make the lights stay off?

all you boy with these lights need to check the grounds under the hood. the 2 by the fuses and the 2 by the battery.

bad ground possibly = abs light

It is because of the tires in my situation. The lights are not on when you start the car it just comes on after driving a few miles. I have the ABS inop and BRAKE light on.
