Just waiting for the wheels to come back into stock so I can order them
![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
The offset for the Corvette Z06 is 40mm. The offset for F-body wheels is 56mm. So the backs of our wheel spokes are 16mm closer to the caliper, which would be the reason that spacers may have to be used.
As much as I hope I won't need spacers, I have a feeling there is less than a 16mm clearance between the wheel spokes and calipers on a stock Corvette Z06. Meaning on our cars with our offset, they may touch without a spacer.

I'm going to be running 18's as well.

1/2?
5/8?
when is the point of changing them

How big of spacers did you run??

If offset wasn't the issue, how do the wheels clear on stock Corvette Z06's but not on our cars?? The Corvette uses a 40mm offset, while our cars use a 56mm offset, thats why.

Okay, here's the point I'm trying to make.
Example:
If you have two wheels exactly the same in every way, except one has a +56 offset, and the other has a +35 offset both will have the same caliper clearance if the whole spoke/hub mount assembly is moved to change the wheel offset.
The only time the offset would effect the spoke to caliper clearance is if the offset is changed by either making the wheel hub mount shorter/ longer; like the original 5 spoke ZR1 wheels do where the spoke location and wheel lip size don't change from the 9.5" to 11" wide wheel.

So by your description of the way they change the offset, you're saying 40mm offset and 56mm offset C6 Z06 rims should have exactly the same spoke to caliper clearance?? And in case I come accross the wrong way, I'm not trying to be critical at all here, just trying to figure all this out.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.
I was talking about all wheel styles, not just the C6 Z06.
I just didn't want everybody thinking that all wheel styles with the same wheel offset would allow the same caliper clearance, that all.
And Yes, you would have more caliper clearance with +40 vs +56 offset with the C6 Z06 since the wheel hub mounting area is where all the offset difference is for equal wheel widths.
But, with other wheels where the lips size changes depending on the wheel width and offset, the caliper clearance would remain the same.

So for us guys running C6 Z06's, our caliper clearance issue vs. the Corvette is with the larger offset that F-bodies need. Hence the possible need for a spacer like I originally stated, due to the 16mm difference in spoke to caliper clearance.
