do you honestly think that your frame does not flex during a hard corner? Paint has a flex additive in it so that the part it is painted on can bend a little without cracking the paint. And if the stock paint does not have that in it, then ouch.

Well Im not going to say wether it makes a difference or not, but just to get on track... We are talking about Unibody cars here... No frame. And as for the body flexing, if it didnt we wouldnt be putting SFCs on either. But hey thats just my thoughts.

Fools blindly follow people without knowing real world data.
If any of you has collected REAL WORLD data that supports and justifies STBs or even SFCs, then by all means, spend your hard earned dollars.
I have SFCs on my race car. They make an excellent jacking point.

Dont u know that t-tops fly off the top of the car if it does not have a STB. I know a guy who saw one fly out of a Ford so it has to be ture.
And the last time I hit a pole the paint on the bumper did not crack(not).

someone backed into my rear passenger quarter panel... and you know what... the paint did not crack. How weird, because you are saying it should crack because the panel changed shape! Obviously, you are winners, and i lose this round.

And I rolled my rear fender lip and the paint cracked.
So was I unlucky or were you lucky?
Now address why body panels are still perfectly aligned during all this flex. I'm sure you can figure out something ...
I'm still trying to figure out what the one guy meant by "the horizon". Please explain further. Maybe I really am missing something.

Get my soap box ready.
Critics will criticize and skeptics will be skeptical but if you prove things then there is nothing they can say about it.
If you are familiar with the way your car handles around turns and how the front end feels then you will know what I am talking about. In fact I have asked mechanical engineers about this and they say it makes sense.
90% of your average driving an STB is 110% waste of money. That being said I have a BMR STB, chrome moly because it is lighter and the weight added 90% of the time is a shame. When I hit the track it comes off. When I drive around town it stays on.
Now for the cases where it makes a real difference. Picture a situation where you throw all of the weight to the front of the car and break heavily. Picture getting of the highway/freeway to and off ramp that will require you to break and turn while going uphill. If you live in MA and drive RT3 and take exit 9 going north you know what I am talking about. The weight is heavy exerted on front suspension when I slow down from 70 to 50, this is a fun turn, and slam into that turn to the right. With the STB that turn is a dream with absolutely no tire noise and little suspension fad. My dad’s '04 Vette is harder to control on that turn at the same speed. Without the STB that turn is very hairy at 50. The tires are squealing and the car feels like it will push its self into the grass.
Now I know there will be people calling my a liar but until you try a very similar situation in your car with and without an STB you will be a critic or skeptic without any reason for doing so.
As for SFC’s. 1987 TA without SFC’s and the T-Tops rattle. With SFC’s they are quiet and the car actually sounded better over rough roads. If they keep the car a little quieter then for some people they are worth every penny.

Useless on the 4th gen cars. The front end is so well-triangulated from the factory anyway, plus all the reasons that Mitch noted, makes the STB an excellent iitem to lean on in the engine bay, as mentioned above.
SFCs, also useless except as jacking points, as noted, notably (hah), by Sam Strano who tested with and without them on the track.
Get some good shocks if you want to handle.

It took the snaking action out of the turns. Koni's only made things better as well. The Kenny Brown Double Diamonds made a difference. Tightened things up is what i noticed most.
Sam knows his stuff but he is most definately the soup **** of suspensions.
