Default Get UMI Performance to finally come out w/their torque arm relocation kit for the A4!

The torque arm relocation kit (TRK) for the M6 came out around this time last year, but how is it taking UMI Performance so long to come out with their A4 version? I actually asked Ryan@UMI Performance that question and he said that they've been doing other projects that have delayed the release of their long-awaited TRK. I need their TRK so that I can finally get their transmission-mounted adjustable torque arm. I can finally finish with suspension and move to exhaust. I can always get the same products from the other vendors such as Spohn and BMR, but UMI's gotten too much good buyer feedback that I have to get their stuff put on. So, please take the poll and let UMI Performance know that we need this product out soon. Thanks in advance.

Very pleased with UMI's service & quality of construction, I
just got one of their TAs. I would really like to see them make
a relocating member that had vibration isolation of some sort.
Have tried an old style Yank I got used but the cabin vibe was
just not acceptable for da pimp chariot, hard to take the coins
rattling full time etc. But something that allowed some front
position adjustment, and didn't ring the cabin like a bell, would
be sweet.

This is the relocation bracket for the transmission-mounted torque arm. I think you're talking about the crossmember torque arm that attaches to the transmission crossmember and not to the transmission tailshaft.

So, you went from the Random Tech torque arm to the UMI torque arm? Same style? And you still experienced vibration with the UMI torque arm? Are you also using a polyurethane transmission mount? Thanks in advance for the info.

I went from a Random Tech adjustable (used) to UMI's fixed
(non-adjustable). The driving aspect for me was this hard
clunking that showed up right after RT TA install (along with
other parts activity). One clunk on accel, fairly quiet until next
engine braking decel (clunk) and so on. I figured this was the
rod ends.

Pleased to say, having installed the UMI piece the other night,
the car is now dead quiet in the suspension, not a clunk, not
a groan, just like new. I haven't had it up to speed yet but on
surface streets it's just not even noticeable. Right answer.
No vibe under load. Seems OK with my -1" drop. If I find any
highway stuff I'll let you know.

The UMI hefts more than the RT piece, I did not weigh either but
under the car the UMI was a two-hander. Tube diameter and
wall thickness both look like 50% larger. This thing is stout.
I can guarantee I'll never make enough torque to budge it
(unlike some of the lighter pieces out there).

Everything went on OK but I had to work at the back mount
to get it on and line it up. Pretty much an interference fit, as
should be. Anyone who can double-bend 1/4" steel plate to
RCH tolerances has my respect. It looks like the previous owner
of the RT piece had to use a hammer on it. A lot. I got by with
a soft face mallet on the new one.

At least I won't spend a week of nights trying to dial the angle
in on this one. It's done.

Excellent. My spring plans count on an Adj. UMI Torque arm with the relocation. Hope to see it all ready to go by then.
