Pretty much. Get the rear of the car off the ground and safely get a couple of jackstands under it. You'll need at least 3-4'' of daylight under the rear tires. Once you're sure the car is secure, put your hydraulic jack under the "pumkin" and raise the axle slightly. Unbolt the shocks at the bottom and wiggle them free of their mounting points. Now you'll be ready to lower the axle until it hangs and the springs can then be removed.

Sometimes the rear sway-bar needs to be loosened up, too.

Since you have it on a lift, just have a buddy (preferably someone on the hefty side) bearhug one of the wheels and pull one side of the rear down while you ****** the spring out (or vice versa if you're the hefty one lol)

This is another good reason to get short lowering springs. Just raise the car by the frame and watch those rear springs fall right out of there.

i just raise the car and let the axle hang... then compress the spring enough with my hands to pull it out

Check your front torque arm bushing/braket. The bushing is probably shot(very easy to change). Or the bolt is known for vibrating loose.
