Default Lowering car what springs and struts/shocks

Hey guys I am going to lower my 2000 Trans Am and want to do the springs and struts/shocks all at once. What combo will give me a good upgrade in the handling department but not to harsh of a ride,I am by no means afraid of a rougher ride but I don't want a lumber wagon type of ride ether. so let me know what you guys think.

I'm going Koni SA's and the hose mod on the back. About 3/4" drop front and back. Great ride and handling.

Strano Springs and Koni shocks, would be my current choice if I had to do it over again!

I have heard great things about this combo. The price from Sam Strano should be around 1100.00 for the Koni SA's and the Strano Springs.

Urban Legend really answered your question, but we don't have the Strano springs. We have Hotchkis lowering springs with Koni SAs which was around $1,100.00 as UL mentioned.

The "hose mod" is used with Koni's and stock springs. You replace the isolator rubber with a 5/8" heater hose wrapped around the top coil. It gives you about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch drop in the back. The Koni's have a lower spring perch that will give you 3/4" to 1" drop in the front.

Koni's and Strano's would be a good choice.

I highly recommend the strano springs/koni setup. It handles great, ride is more than comfortable and the drop is perfect. As a matter of fact, I have a picture -

Damn that looks pretty sick, almost the look I'm going for but I want my car to sit a little bit higher in the front. I also have a LT1. Any suggestions fot that?

Sorry for the but I am in the same boat as you myfriend and looking for some suggestions. I am so picky when it comes to these types of things too.

I think that picture is showing the car at speed, which might portray the front to be lower than it is. He may even be braking or turning some. There are pics of cars with the Strano springs on them, and they don't seem quite that low.

Exactly.... Pictures are helpful, but not to be relied upon 100%. Find the pics of WADDISME's car sitting in his driveway, and it's not the same. What you are looking at up above is a car on a race track, and under body roll (possibly braking, but I can see the car is rolling and it looks like the Esses @ Road Atlanta).
