Not if you're in the car...

BTW, I've got a G2 DSL (made by LG motorsports), and it fit nicely and is 2 piece, so it didn't need to have the driveshaft dropped to install. Unfortunately I don't have pics, and it seems they discontinued it.

What?? what did you have to do all that? Mine bolted right into place.. its a direct replacement for the stock tunnel brace.

I feel that for the money, a DS loop is well worth the peace of mind. Just my 2 cents.

That depends on the driveshaft. If I had a carbon fiber unit I wouldn't bother.

That's no argument in my book...you really really need one

As far as the safety loop goes I would invest the $45-50 for one

I went with a UMI torque arm w/ the DSL. I figured why not get one if Im going to be replacing stuff in that area anyway. You might never need it, but if for some reason you do youll be glad you had it.

Bump for pictures of the Lakewood piece mounted, preferably with TD's

I have a custom made set, so Im not too sure if the lakewood piece will fit...

Bump from the crypt. Same scenario for me. Although my 98 Z has the steel driveshaft. Should I really be worried about breaking that on street tires/bolt on's? I've never read about anyone here breaking the oem steel DS. Debating whether or not to just get the UMI loop for peace of mind.

*anyone know where to get the 4 bolts to bolt in the loop? I threw mine out on the stocker after I installed my longtubes/ory..

It adds additional safety for speedy drivers. It maintains the drive shaft into the right track.

I snapped my rear u joint, ruined my drive shaft and beat the snot out of the bottom of my 69 shifting from 1st-2nd at 6k+ entering a parkway by myself after a nice launch. Yes I had a loop. The thought to myself was this is not good the second after the star spangled banner ended. I thought I blew the motor until I got to look under the car and said whew. I saved the mangled U joint after I sold the car for a paperweight.
