Default question on drag shocks

Some drag shocks are 90/10, 70/30, etc..I know those #s have to do with rebound and compression, but what specifically do they mean? What are the advantages/disadvantages of a 90/10 vs. 70/30 vs. 60/40? Is compression the first # or is rebound?

1st number is rebound, 2nd is compression. It allows for control of the launch. 90/10 means 90% of the shocks control ability is tuned for rebound or slowing the drop of the tires. 10% for compression or allowing the tires to come down harder.

Using tires as a simple visual. A lot is at work here.

Tuneable shocks are far better.

What do you use on your 99 and have you always used them?

So 90/10 would be slower rebound and soft compression??

Yeah. The issue is this. If you start to pull the wheels the 10% rebound is harsh. I have QA1s all the way around. I have had them for about 5 years. The work well. If I was doing it from scratch I would go Strange. They are a bit better if you ask me. My QA1s have been rebuilt by Naake Motorsports and are a bit more tuned to my setup.

Im confused you are describing both the 90 and the 10 relating to the shock compressing (coming down) and nothing for extension/rebound (going up) I thought the main purpose of 90/10 was to let the front raise easily?

Yeah, I talked to Trackbird and Strano, and from what I gathered 90/10 is easy rebound and compression. The rebound is easy to help push the front of the car up and soft on compression as well so when the front end comes down it doesn't slam down on stiff suspension. I still can't exactly figure out what the 90/10 means though?

Yeah even if you go to the manufacturers sites they dont explain enough so you can compare and make a good decision like the single adjustables the rebound is adjustable but they dont give any info on the bump or compression stroke.
