Default Front Sway

Hey everyone, i've been doing a bunch of reading on the front sway options of this car SLP Strano 1le etc.

All of them look to be nice, I'm leaning towards Strano due to him being part of this forum, and nothing but stellar reveiws of him/his company and his parts. Also small buiness and local *sounds like my umi post lol*

Now from what reading i've done I may have missed it but havn't seen a post about someone bone stock suspension or just a phb like myself with just a front sway bar.

I've seen do it it's better, thats great to hear and honestly I'm happy to see reviews like that but how is it better, I know the why but how it feels compaired to stock really would push me to finally clicking buy. Also when comparing a stock F-body suspension to someone who already had springs shocks it's apples to pears.

If Sam or any one would like to explain a bit how it is and how it would be feeling like to someone who dailys this car with maybe 1-2 trips racing *both turning and straight*

I'm still a little leary of plowing *is this even an Issue? I've spend alot of time with FF setups and a large sway tends to be a bad upgrade stock sizings are normally great* Should I be worried of that at all?

Thanks for your time

Edit this is factoring for a good while I'll be keeping stock rear sway and other suspension things sadly.

G/F said I can get a toy in the bars range, but I'm saving for a house so I can't mod too much.

Most people will agree that the front swaybar is the single best suspension upgrade for our cars, after shocks. Doing just the front swaybar and not the rear is fine, you may not even need the rear bar.

As far as creating a push I don't think that it will be a problem. I would think the exact opposite, but I could be wrong on that one.

I have a 32mm front and matching 19mm rear bar off my SLP SS if you're interested in something cheaper.

Thanks for the help, that's what i've read too but I'm still new to making anything with a soild rear turn and rwd once it gets indepth. So I just thought a good check would help me pick my modding.

Smokey thanks for the offer I might do that if it's what will work

Ace$nyper, I know exactly how you feel and I can speak directly to your post and concerns. My car was a stock convert not known for the best of handling. Talking to sam strano was the best decision I ever made for the car and heres the skinny.

I went from completely stock to an 1le sway up front and a double ended PH bar. The 1le took out a good amount of body roll in turns and made it more centerd. the ph bar helped to keep the axle from side stepping over bumps which was awesome.
In the end I decided this wasn't enough so I called Sam. I wasn't sure if I ever wanted to lower the car so his first recomendation was to put konis on. If I ever wanted to change up springs then I wouldn't have to sell the other shocks I would have bought (bilsteins) and by konis anyway. Next was to try upgrading the sway bars and I chose his. In addittion I have 275/40/17 and stock springs right now.

Heres the break down.
Konis- the car now pops up quickly from bumps and no wobbly oscillations. With these alone I realised there is a difference between a firm ride and a harsh ride. Firm ride feels responsive and directed when you hit bumps or make quick lane changes(bars help here too).

Strano bars- the car rolls way less while cornering.I consider these a requirement, not a want. The car should have come with these from the factory!!

Before
With my stock setup my car felt like the body was going to roll over in a turn. It bottomed out on hills and was overall not safe. Going around turns and hitting bumps caused the rear end to bobble up and down and go side to side which was pretty scarry too.

Now:
My car tends to corner pretty flat with his bars (35:22). I know this because when i let my dad drive it the other day he decided to take a overly sharp cloverleaf accelterating up to 65-70 mph and it stayed flat and held like glue. My best from before was about 45-50ish and it felt like I was in a VW microbus. Just yesterday I was pushing it down some back roads, coming over a sharp hill and I went dukes of hazzard airborne haha. I know this cause it sounded like a 747 touching down on a runway as it landed. However the car didn't bottom out one bit it popped up quickly from the firm konis and stayed strait. In addition, the car has way less nose dive during hard breaking as well. BTW Im usually extremely easy going while driving but I ahd to know what it was capable of.

MORAL OF THE STORY: If you want your car to handle like an caged animal thats just been unlieshed, then give Sam a call. He'll sell you quality parts with expert advice on how to implement them with your existing setup. I did, and I've been all smiles ever since

Wow Goldstreak this exactly is what I wanted to see

Thank you very much for your post and help. Hearing the bar(s) help this much really does make me happy as shocks arn't in the cards, money allowing I'd be ordering them as well.

I can't wait to get it and stick it on

I've now got a pretty modified car, suspension-wise. But, I started out with a solid 32mm bar up front. I forgot about it for 4 years, while I gutted the car and did all kinds of other stuff to it. I finally caught my mistake the other day and got the 35mm hollow Stranobar. When I took the 32mm off, it was about 800lbs heavier than the 35mm hollow one. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if it was twice as heavy. And not as effective.

So, I now have a 32mm wall decoration. Don't buy anything but the 35mm hollow bar from Strano.
